Bostic stuffed an inside run for no gain. Then, the running back tried to bounce outside, but Bostic held the edge and made a tackle for a short gain. In overtime, he stuffed a run on fourth down to seal the game.
Dillion is a patient runner who is excellent at reading and setting up his blockers. Early, he dragged a tackler for three yards. Then, he showed his patience on a run between the tackles. Later, he took his time at the line of scrimmage for ten yards. He showed his power by breaking a tackle for an eight yard gain. He dragged tacklers for positive yardage on back-to-back inside runs in the second half.

Sontela Jeunesse-Wood
Jeunesse-Wood beat his blocker, penetrated, and forced the running back into his teammates. Shortly after, he made a tackle on the inside for a short gain. He stuffed another inside run and then put pressure on the quarterback – coming up with a sack.
Stolpestad had the most impressive individual game. He filled the hole a put a big hit on the running back to stop the runner short of the first down. His speed and pursuit allowed him to get to the outside to stop a run. Later, he stuffed two inside runs for minimal gains. He undercut a crossing route in the passing game and knocked down the pass. He continued to thump runners between the tackles – including one on third and short. He was still bringing it late in the game, making a pair of thundering hits between the tackles for minimal gains.

Smith closed quickly on an out route. Then, he made a hit on the receiver to force an incompletion. He had blanket coverage on another deep ball. On offense, he made an extremely tough catch on a contested pass on a five yard out.
Ruben Rubio-Ramirez
Ruben Rubio-Ramirez
Rubio-Ramirez supported the run well with a tackle on a sweep for a two yard loss. His tight coverage down the sideline led him to get a deflection. He held the edge again and made a tackle for a short gain. Finally, he read a throw into the flat and made an open-field tackle.
Jaquary Heidt
Jaquary Heidt
Heidt is a short, compact runner who doesn’t give defenders much to hit and can bounce off tacklers. Early in the game, he made a quick cut at the line of scrimmage for six yards. He made the best zero yard gain you will ever see as he bounced an off tackle, cut to the outside, and showed off his strength and balance by fighting off three tacklers just to get back to the line of scrimmage.
Page blew by his blocker and immediately got into the backfield to force a fumble. Later, he ran down the quarterback for a short-yardage sack.
Malik Johnson
Malik Johnson
Johnson went to his second read for a fifteen yard completion. Later, he rolled out and hit a crossing route for a first down on third and ten. Despite muddy, wet conditions, the sophomore was accurate with most throws. He showed solid arm strength – especially throwing deep outs to the sidelines.
William Palmby
William Palmby
Palmby stuffed a handful of inside runs. His most notable stop came when he stuffed a run in the middle on third and short. He kept his linebackers clean throughout the game and allowed them to roam.
Corey Bartholomew
Corey Bartholomew
In regulation, Bartholomew stuffed an inside run. In overtime, he made the biggest play of the overtime – stuffing an inside run for a two yard loss. The tackle for loss set up the fourth down stop to end the game.
Rannow showed his speed with good pursuit to run down an outside run. He came up aggressively on a pass into the flat to make a hit to force an incompletion.
Although he only picked up a few yards, he showed great balance bouncing off multiple tackles for a short gain. On defense, he came across the field from his safety spot to knock away a deep pass.
