Continue ReadingThe reigning 3A state champs have got off to another hot start for the 2022 season. Valley comes into week 6 a perfect 5-0 & 2-0 in conference play. Blackhawk is putting together a good 22′ bid so far at 3-2 on the year. Like Central Blackhawk is also 2-0 in conference play & will be looking to knock off the reigning state champs. I’ve compiled a list of college prospects from both programs down below for your enjoyment.
JT is a bonafide FBS recruit fielding offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Army, Holy Cross & Sacred Heart. He’s a big reason for Bishop Canavan’s back to back state championship success. At DB he shows good footwork & fluid hips that aid him in defensing the middle of the field. He displays elite ball skills intercepting passes or receiving them at WR. Thompson’s athleticism is effortless gaining YAC & having long INT returns. The D1 recruit runs the alley well & brings tremendous power with him whenever he delivers a hit. He’s strong & capable of maintaining top end speed for great distances.
Jeter has been on FBS, FCS and D2 recruiting boards alike respectively. The senior CB has offers from division 2 Notre Dame College & Wayne State thus far. Rylan is a physical tackler that is ultra competitive in coverage. The 23′ prospect is patient in press man & doesn’t go for the WR’s release moves. He has very efficient footwork & has the speed to stay over top of receivers in coverage. Rylan does a great job of not overextending breaking on the football. The 23′ CB has good play recognition & anticipates passes well.
Simpson has great short area quickness along with accelerating speed. Central Valley finds creative ways to get the ball in his hands on offense. Deniro displays slot receiver savvy getting open and making plays. Simpson’s elusiveness should translate well in the punt & kickoff return games on the next level. So far Simpson has been in contact with FCS & D2 programs for his recruitment.
Johnson is presently being recruited by various division 2 schools for QB. He is poised in the pocket and consistently makes the right reads. Johnson is good throwing off of play action, RPOs & on rollouts. He improvises well on broken plays attempting to create more throwing time. Antwon is also an accurate passer that has the ability to hit his WRs in stride on deep routes. The senior signal caller has ton of good game experience from Central Valley’s legacy of long playoff runs.
Jackson is has been receiving FCS & D2 interest so far. The two time All-State DL continues to have substantial production for Central Valley. He has a fast get off & a nose for the football. He’s good at keeping offensive tackles at arms length and shedding them to make tackles. Jackson possesses a great motor & is relentless in run pursuit. Tonya is also a talented pass rusher that causes sacks & bat downs when he gets into throwing lanes.
Bret is a sure open field tackler that plays with great grit & toughness. He does a great job zone dropping to the body of the WR before coming up to tackle in the flat. Fitzsimmons shows a knack for blitzing the QB off the edge. On offense he has good speed and elusiveness with the ball in hand. Bret plays with great effort & will definitely be able to contribute on special teams as well.
Tyler‘s one of the leaders of the team from a physicality standpoint. Jannuzi is being recruited by mostly PSAC D2 schools to play DE. He displays a lot athletic ability at 6’2 220 running the football on offense. He is agile coming off the edge from his 2 point stance. He has a good motor pursuing the football & is the team sack leader. Tyler needs to use his hands a little better disengaging blocks when chasing the ball. Typically he’s athletic enough to be blockers with speed which will become increasingly difficult in college.
Thomas Price
Thomas Price
Thomas has good size and strength at 6’2 220 lbs. He delivers big hits in the backfield when he collides with the ball carrier. Price also redirects well chasing the ball. He has a good get off from a 2 or 3 point stance. He plays with low center of gravity when he fires out of his 3 point stance. Thomas looks strong & explosive with his hand in the dirt rushing the QB. He has the frame to add 30- 40 pounds & still be effective at DE collegiately. Teams have to account for Price, if he is left unblocked he creates havoc in the backfield.
Maurice Watson-Trent
Maurice Watson-Trent
Maurice is Blackhawk’s leading rusher averaging 70 yds a game. The junior RB has an older brother that plays FBS football for Georgia Southern hopefully Maurice has a similar skillset. He is a hard nose runner that methodically picks his way through interior defenses. Watson-Trent rushes the ball with patience & is always falling forward. He has decent size for a junior RB at 5’10 190 with another full offseason to continue sculpting his body.
Dontae is capable of playing the slot on the next level. His speed is evident on jet sweeps & reverses, and spot screens. Dontae has the ability to accelerate past the defense once he hits the edge. He’s an athlete the Blackhawk coaches call on when they need a big play.
Zach Ours
Zach Ours
Zach is being recruited by FCS & Division 2 programs but hasn’t been offered. Ours is small in stature, but plays with a big heart on the field. Blackhawk does a good jobs utilizing Zach’s skillset using him in return game, wide receiver, & running back. I think he’s best at defensive back on the next level. He’s a smart player that can diagnose & attack plays quickly. Ours is reliable tackler in the open field consistently. He possess good overall strength & is productive coming down into the box to hit.
