Continue ReadingOhio’s 2025 class has a very talented group of young quarterbacks. This class has a good blend of more pro style and dual threat quarterbacks. A couple have big time offers, but there are five who have stood out to us as being a cut above the rest. Here are our top 5 Qb’s for Ohio’s 2025 class.
Ryan Montgomery Ryan Montgomery 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Findlay | 2025 State OH (Findlay) 6’3 205- Ryan has been on my radar since he was in 8th grade. He’s just the whole package. He has special arm talent. He can win from the pocket or outside it. He can throw from different arm slots. Athletically he can get yards with his legs as needed. Clean pocket or not you never see him rattled which is huge. Montgomery should continue to add P5 offers as he grows and develops. His offer list of schools like Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia and many others tell you all you need to know about what about what the P5 colleges think about him.
Tavien St. Clair Tavien St. Clair 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Bellefontaine | 2025 State OH (Bellefontaine) 6’4 190- St. Clair is another big framed athletic QB with a live arm. Like Montgomery, Tavien, is able to make throws from the pocket and on the run. He can make all the throws. Inside the hashes and outside, he has nice touch on his deep ball. He has what I like to call easy arm strength. St. Clair will has plenty of room to continue to add weight and strength. He has a an already impressive list of offers that include Florida, Louisville, Tennessee, and Pitt among others. I expect that list to continue to grow.
Jaystin Gwinn Jaystin Gwinn 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Westerville Central | 2025 State OH (Westerville Central) 6’2 170- Gwinn is electric with the ball in his hands. In the open field he’s a nightmare to try and tackle. He is a threat to hit a home run on every play. Westerville Central does a lot to move the pocket and get him on the run where he can make plays with legs or his arm. This is Gwinn’s first year starting varsity. He has adequate arm strength. He’s a QB who’s going to be able to execute the zone read and hurt teams with his legs when things break down. I think as he continues to fill out and get stronger that arm strength should continue to improve.
Brady Ford Brady Ford 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Whitmer | 2025 State OH (Whitmer) 6’1 180- Ford is a great blend of runner and thrower. While he can make throws from the pocket, he may be the best thrower on the run in this class. While on the run he’s always under control and is really good at avoiding defenders to make throws. He uses different arm angles to make difficult throws into small windows. I’m excited to see him continue to develop.
Scotty Fox Scotty Fox 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB Mentor | 2025 State OH (Mentor) 6’2 195- Fox is am accurate passer that distributes the ball to all parts of the field. He likes to do most of his work from the pocket. He does a good job of shuffling and maneuvering the pocket to avoid pressure. Scotty does a good job of delivering the ball to spots where the receiver can make plays. Quarterbacking at a Ohio football powerhouse and the schedule they play will go a long ways in helping Scotty develop and also in his evaluation by colleges. Starting as a Sophomore in itself says a lot about his level of talent.
