Pennsylvania has produced some fantastic defensive linemen over the past few recruiting cycles and that trend is continuing in both the class of 2024 and class of 2025. Let’s take a look at our five for ’25 defensive linemen.
Mathis is simply a top-of-the-line, elite talent. The 6-foot-6 defensive end from Imhotep Charter is just scratching the surface of his potential. Mathis has a great first step and is an explosive athlete. He’s already nearing 20 total scholarship offers as well. The Keystone State has been home to some truly elite pass rushers over the last few years and Mathis is the next in line of those prospects and has a chance to be the best of the bunch as well.
Mathis gets all the attention in the class of 2025 and rightfully so but Fuse (as well as our other three top-five defensive linemen) are promising and emerging talents as well. Fuse is a powerful interior defensive tackle who also has a great first step and explosiveness. Already at 6-foot-3 and 250-pounds, it’s easy to project Fuse at 6-foot-4, 6-foot-5, and 300+ pounds. He just won’t be a space eater, however, his explosiveness and athleticism project well to being a three-tech defensive tackle in the future.
Ford is much like Fuse, he projects to a potential three-tech defensive tackle at the next level. Ford has a quality first step but is quick to the point of attack and shows great upper body strength. He shows good athleticism and is able to keep his momentum while changing directions in the process of chasing down opposing ball carriers. As long as he continues to grow, he’ll be one of the better defensive tackles in the Keystone State in the class of 2025.
Malvern Prep has been pumping out elite talent the last few years and Borzillo is next in line. He had already has great size thanks to his 6-foot-4 frame and is explosive coming off the edge. He can beat you with speed and he can beat you with a pure bullrush. We’re excited to see him continue to work on his craft over the next three years.
Highlights
It’s hard to find tape of Strange but what you can find, you can see his potential. He already has quality size at 6-foot-4 and shows the athleticism to go along with it.
