Owen Hawley (2023) | 6’6 270 OL | Livonia Franklin
Hawley is one of the biggest linemen in the KLAA and had a very productive junior season. At 6’6, 270 pounds Owen Hawley certainly has the size on paper to play at the next level. A duel-sport ATHLETE, Hawley also received All-State honors in wrestling. Hawley lead the way for a Livonia Franklin backfield that featured Cordell Maybins Jr who rushed for 1,200 yards behind Hawley in 2021. Livonia Franklin has a strong football tradition and has turned itself into one of the premier programs in the state. Owen Hawley is a premier lineman and I would expect him to play at the next level. Look for Hawley and Livonia Franklin to make another deep run in the Division 2 playoffs this year.
Cade Calhoun (2023) | 6’3 250 OL | White Lake Lakeland
Calhoun anchors an offensive line at Division 1 / 2 White Lake Lakeland which relies heavily on the run. A versatile offensive lineman with good size and get-off. Calhoun sees time on both sides of the ball for Lakeland where his size and athleticism are on display. Cade had a very productive junior season, good enough to earn himself Lakes Valley All-Conference honors. Look for Calhoun and White Lake Lakeland to make another run at Division 1 / 2 playoffs this Fall.
Lucas Shallal (2023) | 6’3 285 OL | Detroit Country Day
Shallal is another dual-sport ATHLETE competing in football, basketball, and track for division 4 catholic league powerhouse, Detroit Country Day. A versatile lineman who can be productive at any position on the offensive line. At 6’3 285 pounds, Lucas Shallal should tower over a handful of opponents in the D4 Catholic League. On tape, Shallal shows good strength at the point of attack and a strong base. Perhaps the most impressive thing from Shallal’s junior film is his ability to pull from the center position and still get out in front of the ball carrier. Look for Shallal and Detroit Country Day to make another deep run in the Division 4 playoffs this Fall.
Jonathan Haygood (2023) | 6’5 315 OL | Warren Woods Tower
Haygood is one of the more under-the-radar linemen mainly because he only saw 3 games of action in 2021 due to an injury. He was able to make the most of his limited snaps and put together some productive film tape. The 6’5, 315-pound offensive lineman has a good get-off and strong hands. Warren Woods Tower is a Division 2 school and competes in a competitive conference. Look for Haygood to put together a productive senior campaign and don’t be surprised if he picks up a few college offers along the way.
Charlie Davidek (2023) | 6’3 260 OL | Livonia Stevenson
Charlie “Chuck” Davidek is the anchor of a Livonia Stevenson offense that loves to run the football. The 2-time All-Conference KLAA offensive lineman put together a very productive junior season. Davidek displays a good get-off and good pad level when finishing blocks on tape. A long, slim build, Davidek has a frame that can fill out in a hurry. For his size, Davidek displays good speed and quickness, combine that with good toughness and a 3.7 GPA and you make a damn good offensive lineman. Look for Davidek and offensive mastermind coach Randy Micallef to make a run in the playoffs this Fall.
