Not all of these players are going D1 per se, but all of them have the potential to have an exceptional summer that propels them to great college opportunities. This article will headline five running backs who I’m expecting to have great summer and fall seasons.
Alex’s Senior Season is going to be a movie. He’s gotten significantly bigger over the past year, and he holds multiple RB testing records in our Prep Redzone Camp Series. Alex has all of the physical tools to be an amazing running back, but he doesn’t have the volume of tape or experience needed to earn amazing college opportunities quite yet. Wherever he is next season, he’ll be the workhorse of the offense. As long as he has good vision and contact balance, his proven athleticism will carry him to stardom during his senior season.

Trevor is another running back who deserves more recruiting attention, and he should receive it after a good summer and fall season. His film showcases great speed after getting to the second level. I would love to see his 40 and other testing times because my gut says he’d test very well. Splitting time in the backfield and at slotback, he gets a variety of carries between the tackles and out wide. Whatever play it is, Trevor sports great explosiveness and vision. He has real GLIAC upside, and I hope he’s active in the coming months and gets in front of coaches.
Seaholm’s Class of 2024 is one of the most stacked classes I’ve ever seen. Practically the entire starting skill players on offense are graduating, leaving open roles for younger players. Even with Seaholm’s stacked 2024, Alex was able to be a super productive Varsity athlete. He’s mostly a between-the-tackles runner, but he made the most of his carries and always fell forward. If he’s able to become more athletic this offseason, he’ll be a college prospect.
It’s been a long time coming for Kayden Forbes Kayden Forbes 5’8″ | 180 lbs | RB West Ottawa | 2025 State MI . He’s been RB1 since his freshman season and had himself another phenomenal season last fall. His highlight tape shows off his experience wonderfully. He has the vision and patience that only a seasoned veteran could. There are several highlights where Kayden patiently weaves his way through the defense to an explosive play. He has the skill set of a future Division 1 running back; he just needs to prove that he has the athleticism to back it up.

Donald could be in for a breakout season. During last season’s state championship, he thoroughly impressed me with his angry running, contact balance, and stamina. If he’s able to have that kind of performance against a great South Christian defense, then I can only imagine what he’ll do on a week-to-week basis in the OAA White. I’d still love to see him test sometime this summer. Good testing numbers would all but confirm a Division 2 floor.
