Our 2nd annual Prep RedZone Tennessee Spring Showcase is upon us and a large contingent of prospects are set to attend, so it should be an active day of football action and an opportunity for guys to further their recruiting stocks. Here we look at the guys who are expected to be in attendance on Saturday with a quick rundown on each position along with some intel on the talent itself. Notable QB’s Attending: Joseph Derrick - Father Ryan (‘25), Ryan Huff - Greenwood (Ky), [player_tooltip player_id="148864" first="Cody" last="Pagach"] - Independence (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="258674" first="Brian" last="Rager"] - Liberty Creek (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="207322" first="Carter" last="Smith"] - Hardin Co. (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="308643" first="Connor" last="Swann"] - Ravenwood, [player_tooltip player_id="306693" first="Briz" last="Trapp"] - DeKalb Co. (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="219402" first="Tyler" last="Travers"] - Mt. Juliet (‘25) - Huff is a young, talented passer that already holds a couple of D1 offers and is on the verge of adding more; Pagach is ranked as the #1 quarterback in Tennessee for the ‘24 class. He already holds offers from Pitt and Toledo with many others on the way; Both Rager, Smith and Trapp are viewed as Top 20 in-state quarterback prospects for the 2024 class; Travers is a future star that recently made a transfer from Pope Prep over to Mt. Juliet. This guy is a future college prospect that could see his first offer arrive any day. Notable RB’s Attending: Austin Acton - Lamar Sch. (MS), [player_tooltip player_id="150281" first="Ty" last="Clark III"] - FRA (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="323143" first="T.J." last="Mayes"] - MUS (‘25), Sharkem Wells - Tyner Acad. (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="219364" first="Rayce" last="Whitaker"] - Bartlett (‘25), [player_tooltip player_id="284493" first="Andrew" last="White"] - Montgomery Central - The running back position looks light right now but that can easily change come Saturday; Clark III and Mayes look the two guys who stand out the most to me right now as two athletic backs that bring speed, power and balance to the position. Whitaker is a young, quick back that I’m interested to watch and learn more about. Notable WR’s/TE’s Attending: [player_tooltip player_id="285360" first="Brayden" last="Goodreau"] - Northeast (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="149160" first="Brock" last="Montgomery"] - FCS (‘24), Robert Riley - Clarksville, Michael Starks - Arlington (‘24), Nolan Wolford - St. Xavier (OH), [player_tooltip player_id="250820" first="Alex" last="Young"] - Fayetteville (‘24) - Several guys listed below on the “Athletes” list could make their way into the receivers group throughout camp on Saturday; Goodreau and Wolford are two tight end prospects that have college size and skills that translate well to the next level; An early, initial look shows that Montgomery could be the best receiver prospect at camp and a guy that has worked extra hard this offseason to become a legit recruitable prospect. He is a possible D1 guy if Montgomery continues to develop at the rate he is currently on. Notable O-Linemen Attending: [player_tooltip player_id="309116" first="Brandon" last="Adams"] - Lausanne, [player_tooltip player_id="215063" first="Caleb" last="Dorris"] - Ensworth, Hayden Dozier - Amory (MS), [player_tooltip player_id="118718" first="Cal" last="Grubbs"] - Maryville, Max Kidd - Father Ryan (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="317191" first="Raymond" last="Poirier"] - Hardin Co., Kanye Sawyer - USJ, Jace Schwab - Athens (IL), [player_tooltip player_id="250870" first="Cade" last="Shivers"] - Briarcrest Chrst. (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="323147" first="Spence" last="Tankersley"] - Forrest (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="219432" first="Judd" last="Taylor"] - Carter (‘25), [player_tooltip player_id="153479" first="Zach" last="Turk"] - Oakland, [player_tooltip player_id="323141" first="Hayden" last="Warwick"] - Carter (‘25) - This looks like one of the best position groups that we will have at Oakland High School for the #PRZTN Showcase on Saturday; Leading the way for this group is Power Five offered center Grubbs. The East Tennessee product is one of the better center prospects in the country, holding offers from the likes of Duke, Liberty, Ole Miss, Virginia and others. Dorris is another elite level O-lineman that holds 13 total offers at the moment and is on the fringe of becoming a Power Five offered guy. The youth among this group is quite strong too. Among the young guys to know about and follow come Saturday includes Shivers, Tankersley, Taylor and Warwick. All four of these offensive linemen are future college offered prospects and their performances on Saturday could go a long way towards landing those elusive offers. Notable D-Linemen Attending: [player_tooltip player_id="285345" first="Rocco" last="Abaggnaro"] - CPA (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="257169" first="Malik" last="Aljack"] - Signal Mountain, Bryce Chrestman - Pontotoc (MS), [player_tooltip player_id="219378" first="Connor" last="Coffman"] - Page (‘25), Zacchaeus Dixon - Mars Hill (AL), [player_tooltip player_id="226009" first="Eriq" last="George"] - MBA, Isaiah Hare - Bullitt East (Ky), Bruce Knauber - Greeneville Sr, SC (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="149299" first="Ryan" last="Robinson"] - Father Ryan (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="102320" first="Luke" last="Scott"] - Daniel Boone, [player_tooltip player_id="169167" first="Dallin" last="Steele"] - Station Camp, [player_tooltip player_id="119385" first="Caleb" last="Turner"] - Knox. Halls (‘24), Trace Wegmann - Kossuth (MS) - Early look into the position groups for Saturday’s Showcase shows that this D-line group may be the best of them all with multiple guys headed towards a future on the college gridiron. It’s a good mix of veterans and youth along with several talented guys coming from out of state. The top two names here based on offers would be George and Steele. These are two of the most talented D-linemen from the Middle Tennessee region and guys that will see their stock continue to grow over the next two months. Aljack and Scott are two senior prospects that have college traits but have yet to see those offers arrive. Both guys sport strong versatility along with pass rushing upside, so it will be interesting to watch them compete on Saturday; Chrestman, Hare and Wegmann are three out of state competitors that have nice size and strong motors that work well on the next level; Abaggnaro, Robinson and Turner are three rising juniors that could take their recruiting stocks to another level with their performance this Saturday and continued work this summer during college camp season. Notable LB’s Attending: [player_tooltip player_id="149383" first="Mason" last="Curtis"] - Ensworth (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="285357" first="Bryson" last="Gardner"] - Knox. Catholic (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="150377" first="Omarion" last="Harris"] - Westview, [player_tooltip player_id="317205" first="DaNarius" last="Perry"] - Pope Prep, [player_tooltip player_id="102335" first="Hayden" last="Smith"] - Westview, [player_tooltip player_id="201081" first="Jackson" last="Steele"] - Carter, [player_tooltip player_id="242093" first="Browning" last="Trainer"] - MBA, [player_tooltip player_id="258685" first="Donovan" last="Washington"] - Knox. Central (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="301403" first="Aidan" last="Wright"] - Lipscomb Acad. (‘25) - Multiple college level prospects will be in attendance Saturday from this linebackers group with 2024 stud backer Curtis leading the way. This Ensworth rising junior is a national prospect holding several offers from ACC, Big 10 and SEC programs; Gardner and Washington are two other 2024 linebackers to know about going forward as these two will be two of the better prospects at this position coming out of the East Tennessee region next year. The senior crop will be well represented too with Harris, Smith, Steele and Trainer being four guys that not only have the look and size of a college prospect but also players that show upside to take their talents to a higher stage of competition within the next level. Steele in particular is a top 12 ranked linebacker by #PRZTN and someone still waiting on that first offer. He is a talented guy with size and speed that should land that 1st offer very soon. Notable DB’s Attending: [player_tooltip player_id="227513" first="Jordan" last="Batts"] - Arlington, [player_tooltip player_id="301351" first="Javon" last="Drake"] - LaVergne, Caleb Owens - Page (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="150289" first="Braylen" last="Vanderbilt"] - Oakland (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="228387" first="Breon" last="White"] - Northeast (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="301386" first="Max" last="Williams"] - Hillsboro (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="149391" first="Tito" last="Williams, Jr"] - Bradley Central (‘24), [player_tooltip player_id="237041" first="Alan" last="Young"] - MBA - While this DB group may look small in numbers right now, that could change come Saturday as several guys listed in the “Athletes” group could be placed inside secondary during camp time; There are some talented defenders listed here, including Drake, Williams, Jr and Young who all hold offers at the moment with more on it’s way. Williams, Jr just picked up an offer from Ole Miss and he has several other Power Five, D1 programs hot in pursuit; Drake is an underrated talent that could see his stock explode over the next few months and someone that could reach the D1 level Owens, Vanderbilt, White and Williams are four talented underclassmen that sport college traits and the upside to make it to the next level.
