There are three linebackers in the Top 50 for the Class of 2025 and four linebackers overall in Missouri in the Prep Redzone database, which continues to grow every day.
Today we are taking a closer look at the top prospects. (Click on the player names to check out their prospect pages on PRZ, including links to their HUDL highlights.)
1. Jason King Jason King 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB De Smet | 2025 State MO , De Smet
The No. 8 overall prospect in Missouri in the Class of 2025, King is a 6-foot, 190-pound linebacker who saw some snaps on the varsity level as a freshman last fall but should emerge with a bigger role in his sophomore campaign.
King, who recorded 14 tackles on the varsity level as a freshman, is a linebacker with good size who can run and packs a punch upon arrival. He’s an exciting player who we can’t wait to watch more of going forward.
2. Mekhi Mixon Mekhi Mixon 5'11" | 190 lbs | LB Cardinal Ritter | 2025 IL , Cardinal Ritter
Mixon, a 5-11, 185-pounder who can play linebacker or safety, is the No. 18 overall prospect in Missouri in the early Class of 2025 rankings.
Mixon recorded 26 tackles in five games at the varsity level last fall and earned third-team all-conference honors. Like King, he’s a physical player with good size who can run and hit.
3. Robby Preckel Robby Preckel 6'3" | 230 lbs | ATH Lafayette | 2025 State MO , Lafayette
A 6-2, 175-pounder, Preckel was listed as a wide receiver and linebacker during his freshman season but also served as the Lancers’ kickoff specialist.
Preckel recorded 45 kickoffs and averaged 45.84 per kickoff attempt. He also recorded nine tackles and one reception for seven yards at the varsity level.
