1. Cameron Cooper Cameron Cooper 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH MICDS | 2025 State MO , MICDS
A versatile and athletic 6-foot, 190-pounder, Cooper is the No. 18 overall prospect in Missouri in the early Class of 2025 rankings.
Cooper contributed to a good MICDS team as a freshman. He carried 11 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns and caught five passes for 39 yards. He also recorded 17 tackles on defense.
It will be interesting to see where Cooper emerges in his sophomore season. MICDS returns two Division I running back prospects in Steve Hall Steve Hall 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB MICDS | 2023 State MO and Winston Moore Winston Moore 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR MICDS | 2023 State MO (who also plays wide receiver), so Cooper could carve out a bigger role on defense or on offense at wide receiver or quarterback.
2. Justin Thurman, De Smet
Thurman, a 6-0, 175-pounder, is the No. 21 overall prospect in Missouri in the Class of 2025 and looks like a player who will emerge at the varsity level this fall during his sophomore season.
Another member of a strong 2025 class at De Smet, Thurman lists himself as a running back and wide receiver. He was credited with one carry for one yard and one tackle at the varsity level during his debut season.
3. Charles Bass Charles Bass 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB East St. Louis | 2025 State IL , Lift For Life
A 6-0, 155-pounder, Bass is the No. 28 overall prospect in Missouri and had the strongest debut season of any players on this list.
Bass racked up 604 total yards (304 passing, 207 receiving, 93 rushing) and eight total touchdowns (six passing, two receiving) on the varsity level as a freshman as Lift For Life went 8-5.
Bass had the second-most pass attempts, the third-most receptions and the sixth-most rushing attempts among the Hawks.
4. Essien Smith Essien Smith 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Festus | 2025 State MO , Festus
A 5-10, 160-pounder, Smith checks in as the No. 41 overall prospect in Missouri in the Class of 2025 and will be an intriguing player to follow the next few years.
Smith, who is expected to play quarterback as a sophomore, showed his impressive athleticism in limited opportunities last fall. He turned six carries on the varsity level into 176 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged a remarkable 29.3 yards per carry.
Festus has had a prolific passing game the past two seasons with Cole Rickermann Cole Rickermann 6'3" | 170 lbs | QB Festus | 2022 State MO , who threw for 2,651 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior last fall and 2,349 yards and 29 touchdowns as a junior in 2020. Smith is a different kind of player but could emerge as a dangerous dual-threat quarterback soon enough.
