Each year I’m amazed at the size and athleticism of the top offensive linemen in the state. They just get bigger and better at a younger age. So enough with the small talk, here are your top 2024 offensive linemen.
Luke Hamilton Luke Hamilton 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Avon | 2024 State OH (Avon) 6’6 290- I predict Hamilton to the right tackle position at the college level. He’s quite simply a road grader in the run game. He gets downhill in a hurry and when he engages the defender he finishes. His combination of size and strength are what make him such a beast of a blocker in the run game. He simply overpowers defenders at the point of attack. He has good hands and feet. Athletically, I’d like to see him continue to work on his bend and agility to counter the elite kind of pass rushers he’s going to see. Hamilton already has offers from the likes of Penn State, Michigan State, Kentucky, and Iowa State.
Ben Roebuck Ben Roebuck 6'7" | 320 lbs | OL Saint Edward | 2024 State OH (Saint Ed’s) 6’7 320- Ben Roebuck Ben Roebuck 6'7" | 320 lbs | OL Saint Edward | 2024 State OH is just massive young man. He has good bend and feet for his size. He possesses in spades what all top P5 programs are looking for to combat opposing edge rushers: length, balance, and quickness. These traits are why I project Roebuck to the position of left tackle at the college level. He also does a great job of not oversetting and opening the gate like you see with a lot of young offensive linemen when they see a good speed rush. Ben is good in the run game, but he really excels in pass pro. It will be interesting to see if he continues to play right tackle for Ed’s, or if he slides over to man the left tackle position. Either way the sky is the limit for Roebuck. He’s landed offers from Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, and several other P5 schools. He’s really started to blow up on the P5 scene this offseason, and I only expect that list to grow moving forward into summer camps.

Tommy Ricard Tommy Ricard 6'4" | 265 lbs | OL Hudson | 2024 State OH (Hudson) 6’4 265- Ricard is a young man I project to the interior offensive line. He was in the Hudson’s OL rotation as a true freshman. As a sophomore he took over the right tackle position, but he really played all over the offensive line due to injuries. Athletically he has great feet and balance. His combo of speed, size, and strength make him a viscous finisher in the run game. He has the feet and athleticism to easily take care of pass pro. Being moved around like that and still being able to excel not only speaks to Tommy’s versatility, but also his intelligence and ability to take care of blocking assignments. Ricard was also named a team captain as a sophomore which speaks to his leadership skills. With the physical, intelligence, and leadership traits I’m projecting him to the Center position at the college level. Not only will he be able to hold up physically, but he’s also the guy that will be able to read the defense to call out blitzes, set pass pros, and be the leader of the OL unit. He’s a future power 5 athlete. Tommy has talked to Michigan State, Duke, Northwestern, and Cincinnati.
Marc Nave Marc Nave 6'5" | 325 lbs | OL Toledo Central Catholic | 2024 State OH (Toledo Central Catholic) 6’5 325- When you turn on the film one of the first things you notice is that he just brings some nasty to his play. He has a great combo of size and upper body strength. He absolutely loves finishing. He also has good foot speed that you see in plays where he pulls. I like him as a right tackle at the college level. Nave is somewhat flying under the radar when it comes to offers right now, but I believe that will change over the next year, year and a half as he continues to develop. The biggest area for improvement that I see with Nave is his lower body strength and drive once he engages defenders. Once he gets that down I think he’s a solid D1 mid-major FBS lineman.

Deontae Armstrong Deontae Armstrong 6'7" | 255 lbs | OL Saint Edward | 2024 State OH (Saint Ed’s) 6’7 250- When scouting players, I’m looking for traits and I’m looking for skill level. Typically, if a player isn’t a varsity starter, I’d have a hard time ranking him among the top players in his class at his position. That being said there are rare instances when I will make exceptions, and this would be one of them. Having seen Deontae in person he’s every bit of 6’7 and with long arms to boot. At a school like Ed’s it’s hard to find varsity playing time for even the best young prospects, because there’s just so much talent on the roster. When you watch the film it’s readily apparent that Armstrong is raw and needs to get stronger, but his combo of size and athleticism are a rare combo. When you pull up his Twitter you see a 6’7 250 barely 16 year old who can run in the open court and dunk the ball with one hand or two. You simply can’t teach that kind of size and athleticism. Armstrong currently holds offers from Akron and Kent State. As evidenced by his D1 offers, Armstrong is a D1 FBS caliber of athlete. How he continues to fill out and get stronger will ultimately determine at what level of D1 he will play.

Henry Johnson Henry Johnson 6'4" | 250 lbs | OL Winton Woods | 2024 State OH (Winton Woods) 6’4 250- Johnson was a part of the Winton Woods run to the state title. Unfortunately for Johnson, his run would be cut a little short due to a post season injury. That wouldn’t minimize Johnson’s impact on the Warriors historic season though. In his sophomore season Johnson played left tackle. When you watch his film, he does a great job with his footwork and technique that put him in position to be successful. His athleticism allows him to ge on the perimeter and the second level of opposing defenses to make blocks in the run game. His footwork in his pass sets is also strong. Johnson is strong, but lean. As he continues to fill out and get stronger, I’m very excited to see what the future holds for him.
