In year one of high school ball, these guys displayed plenty of potential on the gridiron. Look for them to continue to progress as prospects over the next three years and continue to be crucial parts of their respective programs. Here’s who to watch for!
RB: Cortez Stone, 5’11”, 170, Louisville Central
A highly productive back with outstanding change of direction and precise vision in space. Stone showed breakaway speed and the ability to run through arm tackles. His overall contact balance is beyond his years. To me, he should be a Power-Five talent when it’s all said and done.
QB: Deuce Bailey, 5’11”, 160, Bowling Green
A dual-threat quarterback that can work all three levels of the field as a passer. Bailey shows good wiggle in space and knows when to slide & end a run. He throws well off-platform and will place the ball where only his man can get it. He’s a natural at creating when the pocket breaks down and can set up his feet in an instant.
WR: Amontez Woolfolk, 6’1″, 170, Louisville Central
A possession receiver that can torch press coverage. Amontez is a smooth tracker of the deep ball and a nasty blocker on the perimeter. He easily drops his hips at the top his routes and doesn’t use any wasted steps. He’s got a big catch radius and should see his production soar next fall.
DE: Austin Alexander, 6’3″, 215, Cooper
A talented pass rusher that knows how to put speed to power. Alexander is a force against the run and can hold up inside against double teams. He plays with violent hands and a low pad level. He’s still adding weight and most certainly has his best ball ahead of him. Look for him to be around two hundred and forty pounds by the time he graduates.
DB: Avaion Johnson, 5’10”, 165, Louisville Central
A safety prospect that has a nose for finding the football. Johnson reads the quarterback well and will break on his intentions. He’s quite rangy and can make something happen after an interception. As a tackler, he’s awfully physical and will come to balance & speed his feet on contact.
QB: Cutter Boley, 6’6″, 200, Larue County
A drop-back passer with the touch to put a ball over linebackers in zone coverage. Boley can thread the needle and has plenty of velocity behind his ball for a hole-shot. His feet are quite quiet in the pocket and work in unison with his upper half. He has a speedy operation time in quick game concepts and can get the ball out of his hand fast.
