Could it be anyone else? Bixby ran away with their fourth consecutive state championship, their 49th consecutive victory and their seventh title in eight years. And leading the Spartans onto the field on Thursday night and finishing his storied career with just about every record in the book was senior running back Braylin Presley Braylin Presley 5'9" | RB Bixby | 2022 State OK .
The Bixby senior and Oklahoma State commit finished off the game with 16 carries for 171 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 20 yards and threw a 76-yard touchdown on Bixby’s first offensive play of the game. Presley continued his legacy as one of the most electric players in Oklahoma high school football history. He also capped off his career with yet another big performance on the biggest stage. That has been Braylin Presley Braylin Presley 5'9" | RB Bixby | 2022 State OK . In Bixby’s biggest games, Presley has always shined. Thursday night was no different. In addition to Bixby making history on Thursday, Presley also scored his 100th career touchdown and would finish off with 102 total touchdowns, not including passing touchdowns. The Oklahoma State commit would also set the school record for most rushing yards in a career. There’s plenty of accolades and adjectives to go along with Presley and there’s no doubt he just capped off one of the best careers we’ve seen in a while.
Bixby head coach Loren Montgomery says it best. “We’re gonna miss him. He’s so electric, such a good kid and leader with a great work ethic. When your very best players are your hardest workers, you’re going to have a chance to be pretty good.”
Presley won our first ever Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year award last year and to be honest, the race wasn’t very close. This year, the Bixby standout doesn’t have nearly the numbers that he put up a season ago but he’s still arguably the best player in Oklahoma and will once again be right in the race for that award yet again.
