As opposed to traditional game reporting, I will break down this star-studded game by each side of the ball, highlighting prospects who produced or excelled in their roles.

We begin with the Quakers, who were minutes away from taking this game on the road. In what was probably the most competitive game I’ve attended this Fall, I came away impressed with many Quakers, the usuals who are ranked, as well as some new names I came across. Attending games live has helped me find many new prospects who deserve attention. All of the new names out of Penn Charter are juniors, I’m looking forward to watching them for another season. Isaiah Grimes showed off his size and his hands on numerous accounts this game. This is a big and fast player who carries his weight well. I still think he could do himself a favor athletically speaking to trim down just a bit. Yet, with that being said, he has a feel for the open field and has solid hands to match. He came down with some tough catches despite himself laboring an injury throughout the game. That toughness stood out to me more than anything. A two-way player who did all he could.
The same can be said about Ohifame Ijeboi, who is new to the site but who has been on my radar for some time now, he was a drawing card for me, someone I wanted to see live in person. He didn’t disappoint, although running lanes were clogged for most of the night by the Haverford front line. Ohifame also battled injuries but refused to be sidelined. Might I say despite the loss, this team is well-coached and full of toughness. Ijeboi struggled to get loose at RB but made numerous plays at his DB spot to help stall runs to the outside. There was no quit in his game that I could see. Loved his read & react ability when in run support at DB.
Liam Rowan and David Comitale both made crucial stops from their linebacking position throughout the entirety of this game. I will keep an eye out for this pair moving forward. Rowan had a game-changing scoop and score touchdown that swung momentum in favor of PC.
Another tough performance put on by Cliff Harling. A ton of energy out of this kid. It’s understandable considering how many plays he made against the Haverford rushing attack. His presence was felt. I’m pretty sure Harling was battling injury too. There’s a clear theme here.
As for QB1, who may end up being the highest-ranking Quaker come this December, I came away pleased with his performance. Colin Schumm Colin Schumm 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB William Penn Charter | 2023 State PA behind center was the main driving point for me to attend the game. The kid is showing he can play quality ball at the next level.
The kid’s size and frame are immediately apparent. Standing at 6’4 and weighing just under 225, Schumm already has the leg up on smaller QB prospects in the recruiting game. That doesn’t mean jack if the rest isn’t there, trust me it is. His throwing mechanics are clean and his release is sound. I can tell a ton of time has been put into his delivery, as his timing is excellent on rhythm throws. His feet match his eyes, which is an advanced trait that allows him to be ready to fire while working through a progression. Love his ability to stay in the pocket and take hits. Absolutely live arm, saw him strike a ball 55-60 yards downfield from a clean pocket. Schumm hits out-breaking routes with the same intensity. I saw Schumm come up short on some throws, it often looked like he was facing pressure that wasn’t actually there. That’s something he can improve on. The kid was taking blow after blow and showed a ton of toughness. That aspect may be the most impressive part of Schumm’s game. He seemingly didn’t come off the field. He serves as the team’s active QB, P, and Safety. He was delivering hits from his safety spot, he was taking hits while at QB, playing special teams. That’s a hell of a workload. Can’t question his toughness.
Loved what I saw late out of Davin Barnett Davin Barnett 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR William Penn Charter | 2023 State PA late in this one. His connection with Schumm started to click as the game progressed. I love Barnett’s ability to adjust to the ball mid-route. Great recognition and ball awareness on his part. This was seen on the presumably game-winning touchdown grab with two minutes left in the game.
The Haverford School

Sam Gerber | 5’10, 175 | ATH | 2022
Billy Brosko | 5’11, 280 | DT/OL | 2023
Sean Dugery Sean Dugery 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL The Haverford | 2023 State PA | 6’4, 280 | DL/OL | 2023
Louie Atkinson | 6’2, 205 | OLB | 2023

The Haverford School is loaded with unranked prospects who really stood out to me. The unranked status of most of the kids will change this December. We should begin with the highest-ranking player in this game, that’s none other than Isaiah Boyd Isaiah Boyd 6'3" | 265 lbs | DL The Haverford | 2022 State PA . This man was unblockable upfront. There’s really nothing more that needs to be said. He’s massive and powerful, the size and strength combination was a little too much for PC to handle upfront. The PC run-game stalled all afternoon, large in part because of this monster in the trenches. A ton of his stops didn’t go noticed. He was clogging gaps left and right. I’m a huge fan of this kid’s game.
Sean Dugery Sean Dugery 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL The Haverford | 2023 State PA was another key man in the trenches. He did all he could to protect Galasso, as well as getting out in front on outside runs. All of Dugery’s efforts weren’t for naught, as senior quarterback Mike Galasso was dealing all afternoon. There was a myriad of throws this kid made that wowed me. He was hitting on tough, deep corner routes that required great timing and accuracy. He was hitting curls and swings decisively. His arm is live and well. Galasso was calm in the pocket, I want to see that same calmness on the run, and when evading pressure. Some costly decisions and turnovers arose after pressure got home. He’s capable and coachable. That calm and cool attitude was on display on what would be the biggest play of the game. Time running, under a minute left in the game, down one, facing a 4th and 15, without a timeout being used. Galasso seemingly didn’t care about any of that and threw a strike through the PC secondary for what would be a game-winning 50+ yard catch and score. That’s guts.
Sam Gerber was on the receiving end of that incredible play. He was also on the throwing end of a trick play that scored earlier in this match. Gerber was slated to be ranked before this game, his performance only solidified that notion. Gerber was doing it all for the Fords. He provides a ton of versatility and his good frame allows for that. He’s got a DB mold, with toughness to provide reps at RB, with hands to provide reps at wideout. He can return kicks, and to no one’s surprise, can throw touchdowns too. Great field awareness and position versatility out of this kid.
Derrick Knox was admittedly a player I hadn’t heard of before the game. I know plenty know. Legitimate deep threat at Haverford’s disposal. He came alive as Galasso and the Haverford offense got #1 involved. Knox possesses great straight-line speed that was utilized outside the numbers and down the sideline. He and Galasso connected on some back-breaking big gains, plays that would have shot Penn Charter’s momentum through the roof if not made. Good ball tracking ability, huge trait to have when discussing vertical threats. If Galasso needed big chunks of yards, he looked #1’s way.
Some other names that stood out along the Haverford defense were edge rusher Dave Kearney and Louie Atkinson. Two long-limbed, athletic players along the perimeter of the Ford front seven. They did all they could to clean up outside runs but really showed out when it was time to rush the passer. Multiple QB hits and pressures were recorded. Sacks and forced fumbles. These two are two I want to see more out of. Their frames don’t necessarily scream supreme pass-rushers, so further tape study is in order to see if this is game was a flash in the pan. Intrigued nonetheless.
Big shout out to Billy and Matt Brosko. The Brosko brothers had their imprint all over this game. Billy can move surprisingly well considering his weight. He was moving players at will inside. If he’s able to get his hands on you, you’re going down. Matt Brosko may land a spot on our updated 2024 rankings. He’s going to be a name featured on the site for years to come. An underclassman who scored twice for the Fords. Excited to see how he develops.
