Specifically, in Metro Atlanta. At QB, this area has produced some high-level prospects like Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Cam Newton, and many more. Still, there have also been some more under the radar QBs that have blossomed into stars as they have risen through the ranks, such as Malik Willis and Zach Calzada. Here, we take a look at some of the 2025 QBs who should begin to rise up boards in the coming years.
Austin Guest | 5’11 | Creekview
Guest played sparingly behind a senior on Varsity last season, but that didn’t stop him from making an impact this season. Appearing in 7 games, Guest threw for 200 yards and rushed for 87. He averaged over 11 yards per completion and 6 yards per carry. Guest is no slouch when it comes to throwing the ball. He can put some nice spin on it and can make throws through tight windows. He also is able to throw on the run and off different platforms. However, he is a real difference-maker on the ground. Has legitimate 4.6 speed, and is a very physical runner who fights for extra yards. In 8th grade, he helped lead his team to an undefeated 2020 championship season at Creekland Middle School. Guest is already a proven winner who has plenty to like on film, and the fact that he has yet to even start on Varsity makes him a fast-riser.
Tanner Savasir | 5’11 | Cherokee
Savasir is the second QB on this list from Cherokee County, and he too is already a proven winner. Savasir had to back up Maryland commit AJ Swann this year, so he only threw 11 passes on Varsity, totaling 76 yards and a TD. However, Savasir made his mark at the Freshman level of football, where he led his team to a County Championship. He did this by making plays as a physical runner, but he has a very live arm as well. The ball comes out of his hand very naturally and can pick apart defenses in the short and intermediate range. Perhaps his most impressive feat is how calm and composed he is in the pocket, which he can navigate without getting erratic and jittery. Savasir is already a polished decision-maker, and should take over in the starting role now that 2 seniors ahead of him are on the way out.
Cruz Paul | 6’0 | Allatoona
Paul might be one of the best QBs in the 2025 class that you have never heard of. He does not have any experience on the varsity level, but that just means his best football is still ahead of him. At first look, Paul is already very impressive physically. He has that QB look, and he has room to fill out as he weighs in around 175 pounds. Paul is a different type of QB than the other two. He is somewhat effective as a runner. but he is not run-first. In fact, he is more of a pro-style QB than anything else. He lines up under center a lot and runs the play-action game very well. As far as his arm, he has a very natural release and can sling the ball at least 50 yards downfield. Excels at throwing on the run and can mix up his arm angles. Paul is also a two-sport athlete, and his strong arm can also be seen on the diamond as he can throw at least 82 MPH. All in all, Paul looks to be a complete QB and is a name that many people in the state don’t already know about.
Landon Walker | 5’11 | Alpharetta
Walker is already starting to visit some pretty big-time schools according to his Twitter, so his stock should soar shortly. The two-sport athlete is also a standout on the diamond, but the gridiron is really where he shines. Most of Walker’s production came at the JV level, but he did throw for 371 yards and added 3 TDs as a backup for varsity. On film, Walker is the definition of a gunslinger QB. He likes to get outside the pocket and sling the ball downfield for huge plays. This playstyle can be dangerous and lead to turnovers, but Walker knows when to not put the ball in harms way and scramble. On the ground, he has high-level speed and can accelerate with the best of them. We have seen a lot of QBs like Walker recently, guys that like to throw off many different platforms and mix up arm angles to put the ball in tight windows. For that reason, there should be plenty of schools that want him. He is already on the radar for multiple schools, so he is definitely someone to keep tabs on in the future.
Chrisitan Langford | 6’0 | Westlake
Langford hails from the same school that produced Cam Newton. Like Cam Newton, Langford is a big and physical QB who seems to out-athlete everyone on the field. One of the first things you notice on film is how physical he is. He is the type of player that can take multiple hits before he goes down, which is a rare trait in QBs. In fact, they even put him on kickoff team to make tackles or to be used as a lead-blocker. His ability as a passer might be the most underrated part of his game. He has a long delivery, but he can put some nice spin on the ball and it flies out of his hand. He puts some nice touch on the deep ball, but he has enough arm strength to pick apart defenses in the short and intermediate passing games. Langford is a physical QB prospect who can make almost any throw on the field with the arm strength he has. If he can continue to develop, there is reason to believe that Langford will have a very bright future in the game beyond high school.
