While Moon was averaging 32.1 points/game, Upper St. Clair gives up an average of 16 points/game. Moon won the game only scoring 16 points, 1 score was given up on safety. Here are a few standouts in this game.
Moon – Dylan Sleva (SR) LB/RB 6’1 215 – Selva was the player of the game. He scored the second touchdown of the game early second quarter. He carried the ball 29 times for 201 yards. Sleva is a tough physical runner and was hard to take down at the initial point of contact. He also took a ton of time off the clock in the 4th quarter to pull out the victory. He showed to be disruptive on defense as well. Sleva has a couple of D2 offers.
Moon – Tyler McGowan (SR) QB 6’0 190 – McGowan didn’t throw the ball much but looked pretty impressive. He shows a high, tight, quick release with decent arm strength. It looks like he takes what the defense gives him. He did have a really nice deep throw with seconds left in the first quarter. He did throw a bad interception early 3rd quarter. I think McGowan would be a good D2 quarterback.
Upper St. Clair – Bennett Henderson (SOPH) Kicker 5’9 165 – Henderson was 2-for-2 on big-time field goals. He hit his first field goal from 42-yards. His second field goal came from 31-yards that came to a 1-point game early 3rd quarter. Both these kicks came in kind of wet conditions. He’s young so it’ll be interesting to see how he continues to develop as a kicker.
