Zak Ahern Zak Ahern 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Rockford | 2022 State MI – Rockford – QB – 6’3″ 200 lbs
Ahern finally had one of those massive blow-up games where it seemed like everything he did turned to gold. He was dealing and making throws all night long. He also did a ton of damage to the defense on the ground. He was making cuts and there were defenders sliding past him. He scored on the ground and bulldozed his way into the endzone. He finished the night with over 200 scrimmage yards and 3 TDs.
Ethan Vanotterloo – Unity Christian – RB – 6’2″ 200 lbs
Vanotterloo is a big back and when he gets going downhill he’s incredibly hard to bring down. He squares his shoulders and embraces the hits. He wins those battles more often than not. He was carrying the ball early and often Friday. He’s able to break tackles on every play and it takes multiple defenders to bring him down. He finished the game with over 100-yards and a TD.
Alex Lee – Spring Lake – RB – 6’0″ 185 lbs
Lee is a big playmaking back and he didn’t disappoint on Friday. He’s a 1 cutback who is confident when he makes a decision. He’s willing to deliver a punishing statement to a defender as well. He broke a big 48-yard TD run in the 1st QTR which helped the offense get going. He carried the ball over 20 times and finished with over 150-yards and a TD.
Dylan Merlo – Coopersville – RB/WR – 5’8″ 175 lbs
Merlo is a fantastic weapon for Coopersville. They line him up all over the field and get him the ball any way they can. They will hand it to him and give it to him in the slot as a screen. He’s the jumpstarter for this offense and he got it going with a great TD catch. He took a slant over the middle, bounced off of a defender, split 2 more, and raced his way into the endzone. He finished the night with over 100 scrimmage yards and another TD.
