Bradyn Weidenhammer – Kearsley – QB – 5’10” 165 lbs
Weidenhammer had a great overall performance on Friday. He did it through the air and on the ground. He threw for 242-yards and then rushed for another 65-yards. He added 3 TDs on the ground to match his one from the air. He was dialed in and made it look easy all night. It was just enough to get them to squeak by with a 40-38 win.
Jace Simerson – Goodrich – RB – 5’11” 175 lbs
Simerson was great on the ground all night and stayed hot. He was breaking tackles left and right and was their workhorse. They had him carry the ball 29-times and he totaled 187 rushing yards while doing so. He also found the endzone 3 times and his best TD run was one to remember. Simerson made a guy miss, broke another defender’s ankles, and then dove for the endzone.
Jack Kulhanek – New Lothrop – QB – 6’0″ 155 lbs
Kulhanek looked pretty similar to Peyton Manning on Friday. He sat back with a clean pocket all night long and just shredded the defense. He made it look so easy that it looked like slow motion for him. He only had 4 incompletions on the night and he put up 310 passing yards and 3 total TDs. He was efficient and stayed locked in all night as he led New Lothrop to a win.
Mabry Wansley – Bentley – QB – 5’10” 161 lbs
Wansley had one of the best performances you can dream of. He was lit the defense up all night and did it both passing and rushing. He finished the night with 387 total yards of offense. 205 of those were passing and 182 of those were rushing yards. In the passing game, he was extending plays and throwing the ball right where only his guy could get it. In the running game, he was making guys miss and running them over. Wansley was on a mission Friday and he put on a show.
Will Damaska – North Branch – QB – 5’11” 180 lbs
Damaska is a fantastic dual-threat QB and he gets better as the game goes on. In the passing game, it took him a bit to get going on Friday but once he did he was lights out. He finished the night with just under 350 total yards and 4 TDs. He had 2 through the air and then 2 on the ground. He threw an absolute dime to his receiver 40-yards downfield for his final score of the night. It was a great way to cap off his wonderful night on the field.
