Antonio Smith Antonio Smith 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Union | 2022 State OK – 2022 Running Back
Having seen Union play two weeks in a row, I was able to really see how the two-headed monster at the running back position is working out for them. Against Broken Arrow, it seemed like the coaches went with the hot hand and Rovaughn Banks Rovaughn Banks 5'10" | 200 lbs | ATH Union | 2022 State OK ended up getting the majority of the carries and big-time yardage. Against Jenks, it was Junior Smith who was absolutely everywhere. On a night where the Union offense had trouble doing much of anything against a very good Jenks defense, Junior still racked up 65 yards on 12 carries. Smith is a strong 5’11″ running back with long arms and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. His strong legs enabled him to carry multiple defenders several times in the game and showed his strong will to never go down without a fight. It is no wonder that Junior has several D-I offers. He is a tremendous back, loaded with potential. I look forward to seeing him plying his trade for a very lucky college football team in the near future.
Devin Robinson – 2023 Safety
Even in defeat Devin put up a strong case for player of the game honors on Friday night. If you checked out the game recap, you know that the first pass of Jenks quarterback Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK ’s high school career was picked off by Union. Devin Robinson was the man who did it. He flashed in on an out route to the Jenks sideline and picked off a pass that for all intents and purposes shouldn’t have been intercepted. It was thrown with pace and in an almost impossible place for the defense to grab it, yet Robinson was there. Just a thing of absolute beauty. Though Robinson didn’t have much room for a return, had he broken into the open field, I’m not sure anyone would have caught him. Devin is lightning fast – probably one of the fastest on the whole field for either Jenks or Union and that is saying a lot. That speed was on display as he racked up 8.5 tackles in the game and did as good a job as anyone could of trying to contain the Jenks passing game.
Bennett Ringleb Bennett Ringleb 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Union | 2023 State OK – 2023 Offensive Lineman
Ringleb is 6’6″ and 280 lbs. Dude is big. Seriously big… add in the fact that he can move very well laterally and gets to the next level to lay down a block as needed and you realize why Bennett is a big-time college prospect. Pancakes aren’t an official stat, but let’s just say that I would have loved to have a $1 for every time I looked out at the field and saw Ringleb taking his man completely out of the play, flattening him to the ground. Quarterback Grayson Tempest didn’t have his best game of the season, but it was more of a secondary thing and not pressure. He was not sacked during the game. In all honesty, 195 yards against what is beginning to look like the best defense in the state is a pretty big deal. Ringleb sports a 4.2 GPA and from the looks of it is a great teammate and leader on the field. He is definitely one to watch.
