JENKS 22, Union 0
For the second straight year, the Jenks Trojans followed up a loss to Bixby with an absolute demolition of rival Union in the Backyard Bowl.
The story of the game was undoubtedly freshman QB Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK who made his first start of the young season. After throwing a pass on the first offensive possession for his team – only a few minutes in, Reisig looked like a young man possessed for the next 46 minutes. The Trojans marched up and down the field with seeming ease, led by the calm, collected and poised leadership of their young, newly minted star and the veteran leadership and consistent running of Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK .
Not to be outdone by the standout newcomer, the Jenks defense absolutely dominated the high-powered offense of Union who had scored 86 points in the previous two games combined. The 195 total yards for Union was the lowest output of the season by far. On the fourth Union possession of the game, the team put together a very good drive from their own 26 culminating in what looked to be a 17-yard touchdown run by RB Rovaughn Banks Rovaughn Banks 5'10" | 200 lbs | ATH Union | 2022 State OK . Unfortunately, Banks was ruled to have fumbled the ball into the end zone for a touchback as he crossed the goal line while initiating contact with a defender – though the replay seemed to show that he had in fact scored prior to losing the ball.
Jenks drove the length of the field following the touchback and young QB Reisig completed passes on three third downs on the way to a touchdown on back-to-back possessions. Junior receiver Ty Walls Ty Walls 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Jenks | 2023 State OK was a big part of Reisig’s success as he hauled in catch after catch for a total of six receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown. On the aforementioned drive, Walls threw for a two-point conversion after a busted extra point try. It seemed as if he could do no wrong on the night – along with most of the Trojans squad.

could probably lay claim to this honor after an outstanding offensive performance, even Jaiden would not be disappointed in this selection.
After the game Carroll was all smiles when talking about the young signal-caller’s poise after throwing an interception to open the game. “We all are gonna fight adversity. He played well after that. I was proud of the way he played,” said Carroll.
Only three passes after the interception, Reisig had his first high school touchdown, a perfectly placed pass down the middle of the field to hit Carroll in stride and send him – and the Trojans – out to a lead they would never relinquish.
Reisig has good size at 5’11″ and 183 lbs. He is mobile enough to avoid pressure and throws incredibly accurate passes with great pace. Though he is only a freshman, he shows a good command of his teams offense and his coaching staff has plenty of confidence in him – evidenced by the fact that on very important third downs, they had no problem putting the young field general in the backfield alone. It is clear to see why Shaker had a D-I offer – from San Jose State – before even stepping foot on a high school field.
