Mustang (2-2) ended up on the right side of this Friday-night barnburner to open district play.
For the Broncos, the win establishes a great start headed into meaningful games, but for Norman North (3-1), a loss headed into a tough stretch of games means the Timberwolves will have to work harder to catch up. Below is a list of the most outstanding prospects from Norman North during its game against Mustang:
Chaz Bradley Chaz Bradley 5'10" | 185 lbs | DB McAlester | 2023 State OK | Mustang ’23 |
5’9″ ATH | Not committed |
Bradley’s 229 yards of offense led the way for the Broncos as the junior tallied two touchdowns on the night. He also had some kickoff returns for big yardage.
He was a tricky player to stop running the ball, and he’s a hard man to bring to the floor. Bradley isn’t slow, by any means, but his patient, more paced style taking handoffs allowed him to benefit from his teammates’ protection as plays developed.
As stated before, Bradley also helped the Broncos in big ways returning kicks and catching passes. He provides a nice check-down option for Russell under pressure, as one of his touchdowns and largest gain of the night, a 64-yard touchdown run, started on a short dump-down. It may have just gone for a first-down gain under other circumstances, but Bradley was able to turn it into six thanks to his speed and feel for the field.

Jay Bedford | Mustang ’23 |
5’9″ RB | Not committed |
Where Bradley gave the Timberwolves death by one thousand paper cuts, Bedford was the heavy hitter for the Broncos.
He rushed for 137 yards and four touchdowns, including long gains of 50 and 33 yards and more intermediate carries of 8, 7, and 9 yards, etc.
Bedford is a more “slippery” runner. On one of his long touchdown runs, a pair of North defenders had ahold of him, with a third trailing closely behind, and it seemed Bedford would surely go down, but the quick speed-back broke out of it and accelerated to the end zone. He has great burst and gives up on a play very judiciously.
