Rank 1 : Trenton Hartlage NT #63 Fr.
Trenton is a hard player to block, as through the opening game, Elizabethtown’s O-Line showed themselves to be an amazing unit, Trenton was the only player to consistently break through the line. Hartlage knows how to push the line towards the runner and how to break a double team. There were also several occasions that he got to the QB on passing plays giving them tons of pressure down the middle. Hartlage is only a FR.
Rank 2 : Connor Dorsey LB/SS #9 Sr.
Connor was exceptional at playing zone and was very good at pressing the receivers off the line. Elizabethtown had to resort to running or the QB transitioning a pass play to a run. Even though they let up 21 points, none of them came through the air. Dorsey zoned down all inside and short throws as well as welcomed contact. There only solo tackler who consistently wrapped up bigger guys in the open field. Connor has a lot of talent, and can definitely shine bright in the future.
Rank 3 : Ryan Priest CB #6 Sr.
Ryan, like Connor, was not to blame for the defense giving up 21 points. Ryan had a steady head when his team seemed to be losing hope and was locked on his man to man match up. Few passes came his way and any that did were defended or tackled immediately after. Priest showed how to stay calm and play through a loss with a great performance, a player that does his job no matter what else is going on around him.
