Over week 1 these were the top performing OGs, OTs and O-Linemen in the Central Kentucky area ;
Tre Alexander #65 G Jr. (North Hardin)
Was able to create big holes in the line for the RB to burst through and was great at stopping the edge rush during passing plays. Never got ran over or overwhelmed, was always the agressor at the line. Tre is a big guy and uses his size and momentum at the line and past it to move anyone out the way. His pass blocking is amazing as no one from South Warren, who has several ranked players as his matchup’s, were able to budge him unless there were 2 guys blowing up his spot on the line and even then, he’d be able to pick one up and give his QB a chance.
Chad Doogs T #59 Sr. (Elizabethtown)
Doogs was also a very versatile and high endurance player. While he is not as loud as other players, Chad is almost always leading the way with exceptional blocking. On multiple occasions he would overwhelm and knock down other players, mostly while he was swinging in a power play. He isn’t the fastest guy but he sure isn’t the slowest, with his large frame he is always down field in front of the RB blocking. On passing plays his one – on – one ability was unmatched by North Bullitt, no sack came from his side. Most of all, he is consistent, he comes to play until 0:00 is on the clock.
Dakota Nation #66 OT Sr. (Spencer County)
Every scoring play I could see, Dakota was the one pancaking, blocking two levels, and pushing people through to create openings. The real reason Spencer was able to put up 30 points and rush with multiple kinds of runners and sets is because of Nation. Nation brings a big body and strength through the defense every running play and the ball follows where he goes. A versatile linemen with alot of strength, Nation is #1 player for Spencer County’s week 1 win.
Jermaine Buckner OL/DL #52 Sr. (Fern Creek)
Jermaine Buckner was a key to the running success in this game. On the 47 yard run, Buckner blocked 3 different players through that play. Jermaine is someone who plays every down with some contact. Totaling 300 rushing yards, the O-Linemen preformed with a purpose in the week 1 win, executing the game plan perfectly.
Jacob Hibbell #67 Sr. OL (Bullitt Central)
There power blocker, the big reason the run game did so well. Towering in at 6’4 and weighing 285 pounds, Bibbell is an athlete. Knowing who to block, when to pull and chip, having all the tools you need as a linemen, and a very devolped player. Jacob is very under rated as he had one of the best line performances this week, and helped produce a +500 rushing yard game for the Cougars.
Nick Pike OL #72 Sr. (Fern Creek)
Nick played an amazing game, and he would’ve been on the list had it not been the triple block on the 47 yard run (by Buckner). Still a powerful brick wall that seeks contact as soon as he pulls or level changes. Nick Price is unstoppable with one – on – one blocking scenerios, and was another important piece to the +300 yard rushing attack.
Gavin Young C #56 Jr. (Elizabethtown)
Gavin was the interior blocker and he was great at chipping one and keeping another from coming through. He did everything it took to give Ryder time to pass or transition the play into a run, anytime someone got through he’d continue to find someone else to block or help his guards. Great job at keeping himself busy on the inside and was always the one to give the last shove after a whistle. Very physical player with potential.
Luke Chadborne #52 OL Sr. (North Hardin)
Stopped guys bigger than him was great at picking up rushing LBs, was the main one absorbing and chipping bigger guys trying to blitz in. Luke was a good fit in the middle, was athletic and quick enough to block anyone coming form any direction.
Quentin Lepora #75 T Sr. (Elizabethtown)
On the first TD of the game it was Quentin’s downfield block that secured the TD. Lepora is the biggest linemen on the field for the Panthers and he uses it best while in motion or blocking down field. Excellent at pushing one and moving up the next level to block another. Most successful runs tonight came behind Quentin or Doogs, in motion. If you need a big body who can block down field Lepora is a player to keep an eye on.
Connor Hazelton C/DL #67 Jr. (Southern)
Connor was a part of a multi rusher running attack, and playing well in any condition, not messing up any snaps and locking down the middle. Pass plays Connor really shined as he was always looking to see if someone was going to break through, and was a good presence up front for Eastern.
