These are young athletes who got their first season of high school football under their belts and will be names to keep an eye on as they continue to develop and hone their craft. With that being said, let’s take a look at the young men that made an impact this spring season and are ready to shine when the fall season starts.
I’Marion Stewart I’Marion Stewart 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Kenwood Academy | 2024 State IL WR Bolingbrook Twitter
Mr. Stewart is from Bolingbrook, he played on Varsity as a Freshman and he showcased what he can do. This is very early to say but this young man has the potential to become an all-around receiver as he showcased this past spring season. This includes his route running, shiftiness making the first defender miss, getting hands-on to block downfield, and making tough catches. I’m not the only one that sees his talents as he has a number of D1 offers with his most recent being from The University of Kanakas. Mr. Stewart is not only a top WR in the 24′ class but a top player as well, he’s ready to shine and continue making a name for himself when the pads get put on this fall.
Eddie Tuerk Eddie Tuerk 6'4" | 265 lbs | DL Lyons Township | 2024 State IL DL Lyons Township Twitter
Mr. Tuerk is from Lyons Township, he got his feet wet on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and was a force to be reckoned with. He has a good frame standing at 6’4 235, he gets off blocks at the point of attack by disengaging the block to make the tackle either at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. What I like most about Mr. Tuerk is how on every play on his highlight tape he flies to the ball getting involved on every play. I’m not the only one that’s high on this young man, after going on a camp and unofficial visit to The University of Tennessee he impressed the coaching staff there walking away with an offer. This will be the first of many for Mr. Tuerk as he’s ready to showcase his skillset this fall and build upon his college interest.
Tony Phillips Tony Phillips 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Kankakee | 2024 State IL RB Bishop McNamara Twitter
Mr. Phillips is from Bishop McNamara, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he was a sight to see. What I like most about this young man is how he plays through contact and keeps his feet driving fighting for every inch. Don’t let his size confuse you, he might stand at 5’7 160 but his aggressiveness and attacking playstyle speak for themselves. There are countless clips on his highlight film where he plants his foot to get upfield and breaks through arm tackles gaining yards after contact. This young man currently holds 3 D1 offers from Florida Atlantic University, Syracuse University, and The University of Tennessee. Mr. Phillips is ready to shine this fall and looks to dominate the fall season in the backfield with his teammate Jaydon Wright Jaydon Wright 6'0" | 230 lbs | RB Bishop McNamara | 2024 State IL as they can possibly be one of the best backfield duos in the state in years to come.
Dominik Ball Dominik Ball 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Palatine | 2024 State IL RB Palatine Twitter
Mr. Ball is from Palatine, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and he balled out. What I like most about this young man is how quickly he’s able to change gears when he bursts through the line of scrimmage. He currently runs a 4.45 40-yard dash and oh boy does it show on film. Once he turns the corner there’s no catching him as he simply blows by the 2nd level of defenders. His playmaking ability that he showcased this spring season is only a glimpse into what’s to come for this young man as he gets ready to suit up with fellow teammates Mitch Larkin Mitch Larkin 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Palatine | 2022 State IL , Jacob Bostick Jacob Bostick 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Palatine | 2022 State IL , and Kameron Lewis Kameron Lewis 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Palatine | 2022 State IL . Mr. Ball is ready to shine come this fall and I believe he’s going to be a sight to see.
Cam Williams Cam Williams 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Glenbard South | 2024 State IL WR Glenbard South Twitter
Mr. Williams is from Glenbard South, he played on JV as a Freshman and dominated the competition. What stands out the most about this young man is his route running ability to create separation from the defender and his ability to adjust to contested catches last second to make the play. He hasn’t played a snap on Varsity as of yet BUT with his good performances at various summer camps, he was awarded multiple D1 offers with the first coming from Northern Illinois University and the latest being from The University of Iowa. Mr. Williams is ready to shine and is one to put on your radar as he looks to showcase his 4.57 40 speed along with his 6’2 175 frame.
Domenic Beres Domenic Beres 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB St. Francis | 2024 IL LB St Francis Twitter
Mr. Beres is from St Francis, he played on Varsity this past spring as a Freshman and was a sight to see. He stands at 5’10 190 and plays like a seasoned upperclassman with the way he reads defenses and attacks the ball carrier. I got to see Mr. Beres live during a spring season game and he was all over the stat sheet finishing with 15+ solo tackles, a blocked punt for a TD, INT for a TD, multiple PBU’s, and continued to blow up plays with fellow St Francis Spartans. What I like most about Mr. Beres’ game is his aggressiveness and how he attacks each play, to have that as a Freshman is very impressive let alone being the starting LB on a VERY talented St Francis Spartans team. Mr. Beres is here to stay and ready to shine this fall, I look forward to seeing him compete and I expect his college interest to pick up once the fall season is concluded.
Grant Stec Grant Stec 6'6" | 245 lbs | TE Jacobs | 2024 State IL TE Jacobs Twitter
Mr. Stec is from Jacobs, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he got it done in the air as well as the ground attack. What stands out to me the most about this young man is his selflessness to block downfield for his teammates. On one play he bursts off the line of scrimmage and pancakes the defender in his tracks and on another he sprints to the opposite side of the field to make a block 20-yards downfield for his running back to get into the endzone. Mr. Stec is also lines outside the numbers where he makes contested catches by high pointing the ball which is where his 6’6 225 frame comes to light. This young man could very well be a high target for college coaches for the 24′ class at the TE position once the fall season is over.
Alessio Milivojevic Alessio Milivojevic 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB St. Francis | 2024 State IL QB St Francis Twitter
Mr. Milivojevic is from St Francis, he played a majority of his snaps on JV while also mixing in playing time on Varsity this past spring season. What’s most impressive about this young man is how he carries himself and the high standard that he sets for himself. I was fortunate enough to be at a St Francis practice this past spring to see him in action and talk with him afterward. During his Varsity reps he would get on himself for not making the ball easier to catch for his receivers, it was downpouring rain and everyone was getting drenched with the ball being extremely wet, and made sure that if something went wrong on the play he took responsibility for it. Mr. Milivojevic stands at 6’0 190 and has an impressive arm talent as well, as he continues to hone his craft and develop further he’s going to be scary for opposing defenses. With that being said, this young man is ready to shine this fall with Domenic Beres Domenic Beres 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB St. Francis | 2024 IL , T.J. McMillen T.J. McMillen 6'3" | 305 lbs | DL St. Francis | 2023 State IL , Dash Dorsey Dash Dorsey 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR St Francis | 2023 State IL , and company.
Blayne Sisson Blayne Sisson 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Mt. Carmel | 2024 State IL ATH Mt Carmel Twitter
Mr. Sisson is from Mt Carmel, he got his feet wet this spring playing on Varsity as a Freshman and he didn’t disappoint. He showed light on becoming a deadly return man in the future with his first highlight clip where he took a kickoff for a touchdown running straight through the kick-off team weaving in and out of them. What I like most about this young man has to do with the big plays he makes when the ball is in his hands, this ranges from kickoff returns to running jet sweeps to getting the handoff in the backfield to catching the ball from a pass. Not to mention he stands at 6’2 180. Mr. Sisson made an impact this past spring on Varsity and is ready to shine moving forward, if he’s not on your radar he should be.
Kyan Berry Johnson Kyan Berry Johnson 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Bolingbrook | 2024 State IL WR Bolingbrook Twitter
Mr. Berry Johnson is from Bolingbrook, he got his feet wet on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and showcased what he can do. He’s able to secure the screen pass and get upfield quickly running by defenders in the process. What caught my eye the most was his ability to extend a play in the QB scramble drill, it was supposed to be a screen pass but it got covered by the opposing defense so Mr. Berry Johnson turns to block downfield for a brief second as his QB is rolling out to his side. After the block, he disengages swinging himself out wide for an easy completion and getting yards after the catch. He stands at 5’10 165 and is ready to shine this fall, keep an eye on this young man as he continues to hone his craft.
Troyer Carlson Troyer Carlson 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Kaneland | 2024 State IL QB Kaneland Twitter
Mr. Calrson is from Kaneland, he got his feet wet on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring season where he showcased what he can do. What stands out most to me about this young man is how he’s able to stay in the pocket to get the ball downfield into his receiver’s hands while the pocket is collapsing and pressure is in his face. He’s a taller QB standing at 6’2 165 and has solid pocket footwork which he uses to evade pressure as well as making the throw on the run. Mr. Carlson is ready to shine come the fall season and build upon his momentum from the spring.
Tysean Griffin Tysean Griffin 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Morgan Park | 2024 State IL ATH Morgan Park Twitter
Mr. Griffin is from Morgan Park, what I like most about this young man is how explosive he is on both sides of the ball. He stands at 5’11 165 and is able to change gears quickly which goes hand in hand with his playmaking ability. This comes to light on both sides of the ball and in the return game where he weaves in and out of the defenders when the ball is in his hands resulting in big plays. Keep an eye on Mr. Griffin, he’s ready to shine this fall and I have no doubt it’s going to be a sight to see.
These are the young men that were Varsity Contributors this past spring, look for them to make an impact on Varsity again this fall and in the years to come as they are ready to shine.
