This was our first season at Prep Redzone Oklahoma and it’s our honor to announce our first ever All State Team. Check out our 1st Team RIGHT HERE. Our 2nd Team selections are below and our 3rd Team selections will be released on Sunday. OFFENSE QB - [player_tooltip player_id="38671" first="Carson" last="May"] - JUNIOR - JONES - Coming into the 2020 season we knew that Jones quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="38671" first="Carson" last="May"] had the chance to be special but he took his game to the next level. The dual-threat QB combined for 40 touchdowns on the year and established himself as the best QB prospect in Oklahoma. RB - [player_tooltip player_id="91337" first="Braden" last="Drake"] - SENIOR - WAGONER - Wagoner’s defense certainly led the way to a state championship but running back [player_tooltip player_id="91337" first="Braden" last="Drake"] was an absolute touchdown machine. He finished with over 2,000 yards and well over 30 touchdowns on the season. He couldn’t be stopped in the title game. RB - [player_tooltip player_id="48281" first="Grant" last="Lohr"] - SENIOR - JENKS - Jenks reloaded at the running back position with a player that ended up being one of the best in the state. Jenks senior [player_tooltip player_id="48281" first="Grant" last="Lohr"] made the most of his one year at the running back position and helped carry the Trojans to another state championship. RB - [player_tooltip player_id="38548" first="Owen" last="Heinecke"] - SENIOR - BISHOP KELLEY - After his breakout season in 2019, Bishop Kelley’s [player_tooltip player_id="38548" first="Owen" last="Heinecke"] had high expectations and he surpassed him. It didn’t take long for Heinecke to be considered one of the best two-way players in the state. He shined at running back and on defense as well. WR - [player_tooltip player_id="52276" first="Brexten" last="Green"] - SENIOR - CASHION - Cashion has always had one of the best passing games in the state so they routinely have strong receivers. Senior [player_tooltip player_id="52276" first="Brexten" last="Green"] fit that mold in 2020 as Cashion’s home run threat. He finished with nearly 20 touchdown receptions and was a monster after the catch. WR - [player_tooltip player_id="59991" first="Mason" last="Gilkey"] - JUNIOR - PAWHUSKA - Pawhuska’s offense was one of the best in state history during the 2020 season. The passing game was unstoppable and junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="59991" first="Mason" last="Gilkey"] benefitted with a state-leading 26 touchdown receptions. Gilkey has a very bright future. OL - [player_tooltip player_id="38504" first="Dillon" last="Gilbert"] - SENIOR - OWASSO - Owasso’s offense was one of the best in 6A football and they had three or four different running backs that stood out. One of the consistent parts of that running game was the play of senior [player_tooltip player_id="38504" first="Dillon" last="Gilbert"]. The Owasso big man led the Ram O-Line. OL - [player_tooltip player_id="38515" first="Garret" last="Humann"] - SENIOR - WESTMOORE - Coming off a breakout season in 2019, Westmoore offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="38515" first="Garret" last="Humann"] came into 2020 looking to be one of the best at the position. The Westmoore senior was one of the more physical players in the state and helped an explosive Jag offense. OL - [player_tooltip player_id="38779" first="Jonathan" last="Ashford"] - SOPHOMORE - EDMOND SANTA FE - Edmond Santa Fe’s running game was outstanding in 2020 and it’s easy to see why as they have one of the best young O-Linemen in the state with [player_tooltip player_id="38779" first="Jonathan" last="Ashford"]. After a breakout freshman season, Ashford only got better during the 2020 season. OL - [player_tooltip player_id="38510" first="Melvin" last="Swindle"] - SENIOR - HERITAGE HALL - Heritage Hall senior [player_tooltip player_id="38510" first="Melvin" last="Swindle"] has played a variety of positions on both sides of the line of scrimmage. However, he moved to a natural fit on the interior of the O-Line in 2020 as Heritage Hall’s center and he became one of the state’s best. OL - [player_tooltip player_id="38675" first="Will" last="Thomas"] - JUNIOR - UNION - Union’s offense was at their best in 2020 during the second half of the season and into the playoffs behind a great running game. That run game was set up by Union junior [player_tooltip player_id="38675" first="Will" last="Thomas"], who emerged as one of the best linemen in the junior class.
DEFENSE DL - [player_tooltip player_id="38572" first="Donnie" last="Wingate"] - SENIOR - CHOCTAW - It wasn’t easy to run the ball against Choctaw in 2020. On one side of the D-Line was 1st Team selection [player_tooltip player_id="61127" first="Desean" last="Brown"] and on the other was senior [player_tooltip player_id="38572" first="Donnie" last="Wingate"]. The senior standout finished the year with 10 sacks and just under 100 tackles on the year. DL - [player_tooltip player_id="91338" first="Jesse" last="Rose"] - SENIOR - KINGSTON - Kingston made the transition from 2A football to 3A football look easy behind a dominating defense. Leading that dominating D was senior lineman [player_tooltip player_id="91338" first="Jesse" last="Rose"]. The Kingston senior was one of the best at sacking the quarterback with 26 on the season. DL - [player_tooltip player_id="51177" first="Joe" last="Maytubby"] - SENIOR - SHAWNEE - Shawnee senior [player_tooltip player_id="51177" first="Joe" last="Maytubby"] has to be considered one of the best available senior prospects on the defensive side of the ball. He was a monster in 2020, finishing with well over 100 tackles and 15 sacks on the year. He’s no stranger to the end zone either. LB - [player_tooltip player_id="38489" first="Collin" last="Oliver"] - SENIOR - EDMOND SANTA FE - Edmond Santa Fe’s offense got a lot of attention with some of the numbers they put up but the defense was lights out as well. Leading that charge was senior [player_tooltip player_id="38489" first="Collin" last="Oliver"]. The OSU signee led Santa Fe in getting after the quarterback and had just under 100 tackles. LB - [player_tooltip player_id="38676" first="Gabe" last="Brown"] - JUNIOR - STILLWATER - Stillwater linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="38676" first="Gabe" last="Brown"] enjoyed a breakout season during his sophomore campaign. He took the next step during his junior year, being one of the best backers in the state and becoming more of a leader. Expect big things from Brown in 2021. LB - [player_tooltip player_id="38813" first="Reese" last="Roller"] - SOPHOMORE - VERDIGRIS - Without a doubt one of the breakout stars of 2020 was Verdigris sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="38813" first="Reese" last="Roller"]. The young linebacker made his presence felt in a two-week stretch where he had ten sacks in two games alone. He finished with over 20 sacks on the year. LB - [player_tooltip player_id="61142" first="Shamaur" last="Edwards"] - JUNIOR - MIDWEST CITY - Midwest City has had the reputation of a hard-hitting defense and nobody embodies that more than junior [player_tooltip player_id="61142" first="Shamaur" last="Edwards"]. The junior enjoyed a breakout season where he established himself as one of the best in the state with well over 10 sacks. DB - [player_tooltip player_id="38734" first="Collin" last="Matteson"] - JUNIOR - OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL - OCS made a run to the 2A semifinals and they have a great building block going into 2021 with dynamic junior [player_tooltip player_id="38734" first="Collin" last="Matteson"]. The OCS standout was a great receiver but even better on defense, finishing the year in double digits in interceptions. DB - [player_tooltip player_id="38497" first="Donovan" last="Stephens"] - SENIOR - DEL CITY - It’s well documented that Del City didn’t have the season that they envisioned back in August. But every single week, senior [player_tooltip player_id="38497" first="Donovan" last="Stephens"] left everything out on the field. He was without a doubt one the more disruptive players on the defensive side of the ball. DB - [player_tooltip player_id="38499" first="Makale" last="Smith"] - SENIOR - MIDWEST CITY - It was hard to pin down just one position for Midwest City’s [player_tooltip player_id="38499" first="Makale" last="Smith"]. The OSU signee was the Bombers’ home run threat at receiver, a dominating defensive back and a dynamic player in the return game. However, DB was the natural position for Smith. DB - [player_tooltip player_id="61125" first="NuNu" last="Campbell"] - JUNIOR - HOLLAND HALL - Holland Hall was loaded with talent coming into 2020 and it ended with a perfect season and state championship. Establishing himself as one of the next great cornerbacks in the Tulsa area was junior [player_tooltip player_id="61125" first="NuNu" last="Campbell"]. He was lights out in a breakout season.
KICKER/ATHLETES K - [player_tooltip player_id="51178" first="Logan" last="Ward"] - SENIOR - DEER CREEK - Deer Creek senior [player_tooltip player_id="51178" first="Logan" last="Ward"] was not only a great kicker but a great athlete. He was a tight end, linebacker and the standout kicker for the Antlers. Ward is headed to OSU and was already one of the best kickers but showed this year that he was much more. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="38684" first="Buddy" last="Bizzell"] - JUNIOR - CARL ALBERT - Carl Albert captured a fifth straight title and the improvement of Carl Albert junior [player_tooltip player_id="38684" first="Buddy" last="Bizzell"] was a big reason. The junior went from sharing carries to taking the majority of the workload in the Carl Albert backfield and he absolutely flourished. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="62996" first="Hayden" last="Fry"] - SENIOR - CUSHING - Cushing is loaded with young talent and the majority of their best players are sophomores. However, they did have a senior that stood out in 2020 as [player_tooltip player_id="62996" first="Hayden" last="Fry"] was a two-way star. He had over 160 tackles and was also their leading rusher on offense. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="38586" first="Kobey" last="Stephens"] - SENIOR - WEWOKA - One of the more underrated players in the state was Wewoka’s [player_tooltip player_id="38586" first="Kobey" last="Stephens"]. The Wewoka senior was an outstanding dual-threat quarterback and was also an impact player on defense. He was one of the best small-school players in Oklahoma this fall. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="38581" first="William" last="McGuire"] - SENIOR - EAST CENTRAL - East Central’s [player_tooltip player_id="38581" first="William" last="McGuire"] was without a doubt one of the breakout stars during the 2020 season. He was a great receiver for the Cardinals but he was arguably the best return man in Oklahoma. He finished the year with six kick return touchdowns.
