When you talk about the state’s 2023 class, Edmond Santa Fe offensive lineman Jonathan Ashford Jonathan Ashford 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Edmond Santa Fe | 2023 State OK has to be in the discussion for one of the first prospects who emerged as a legitimate D1 prospect. Ashford started as a freshman in 6A-1 which is simply something we don’t see very often. But when you see a freshman starting at that high level, it gets your attention and those players usually end up being some of the best at their position. That was the case for Ashford as he started for four seasons and would eventually commit and sign with Air Force.

He started for the Wolves as a freshman and has been an anchor of this Santa Fe offensive line ever since. This offseason, he committed to Air Force after establishing himself as a legitimate D1 prospect. When he first started earlier in his career, we thought that Ashford might be more of a tackle prospect at the next level. But it looks like he’s going to be more of an interior lineman. And Santa Fe went through a rough season this year but Ashford was still a big part of the senior class and he’s been a big part of their offense’s success.
