Every Friday during February through April, we threw on the tape and broke down athletes across Oklahoma. In February, we put out a tweet asking prospects in the 2024-2026 classes to send us their film for our Film Review feature. Nearly 200 responses later and we were off to the races. We’ve reviewed well over 100 prospects over the last three months and today’s post is our final film review of the offseason! With spring football opening up in just a few weeks, it’s time to start looking at what’s happening now and put 2022’s film in the rear view mirror.
Now, all of these breakdowns are based on the film we have access to. And this isn’t just a puff piece. While the majority of the breakdowns will be positive, it will also include areas to improve, question marks and more for the prospect to work on as we head into spring football in May.
Our first prospect on this week’s breakdown is the only 2026 prospect featured this week. Wide receiver Ben Daniels Ben Daniels 5’8″ | 160 lbs | WR Collinsville | 2026 State OK spent his freshman season at Verdigris and while most of his action was at the JV level, he did receive quite a bit of playing time on varsity. Daniels is now at Collinsville as his dad accepted a coaching job with the Cardinals. Based on his film from last season, both JV and varsity action, a few things really stood out to us on the breakdown. First off, Daniels seems to have a knack for making big plays. Whether it’s turning a short pass into a long touchdown or simply beating his man in a one on one situation. Daniels has plenty of clips that end up with points going on the scoreboard. Obviously with a young prospect, we want to see more and specifically at the varsity level. But Daniels is off to a great start as a wide receiver that can also turn around and play defense. Another thing that really impressed us was his willingness to help the run game as a blocker. He’s incredibly physical at the point of attack and the strength showed up in blocking as well as shaking off would-be tacklers.

We move to the 2025 class with our next prospect and specifically to the defensive side of the ball. The 2022 season brought plenty of struggles for Shawnee but the hope is that the Wolves will turn things around in a big way starting this fall. One of the bright spots last season was the emergence of 2025 prospect Deetrick Beavers Deetrick Beavers 5’7″ | 140 lbs | DB Shawnee | 2025 OK at the cornerback position. He’s also listed as several different positions but his film at the cornerback position is what we started getting locked in on this week. As a corner, Beavers had some serious playmaking ability. And it starts with the hands. Beavers made plenty of plays on the ball last season and what was really impressive is he did in against a variety of routes. It wasn’t just go routes or one specific route. A big reason behind that was his speed as he could stay with just about anyone and then also close on the ball when there was separation. Beavers is listed at 5’8 and size might be something that limits him as a prospect so we plan on seeing him in person this spring. But based on the film, despite size questions, there are some serious cover skills when you look at Beavers.
The first of two 2024 offensive linemen on this breakdown is Bixby big man Evan McClure Evan McClure 6’5″ | 270 lbs | OL Bixby | 2024 State OK and we’re going to lead it off with this. Both of these linemen are criminally under ranked right now. That will change in June with the next update. McClure is an absolute beast and that’s no surprise as Bixby has turned into a program that not only dominates the scoreboard, they dominate on the line of scrimmage. It seems like the Spartans are always producing outstanding offensive linemen and they have a couple in the 2024 class. McClure lined up at right guard last season and was a match-up nightmare in Bixby’s running game, that uses a lot of misdirection and blockers pulling down the line. McClure excelled in those situations as he has quick feet and can move for a big man. His hand placement was another thing that really stood out to me as he dominated almost everyone he got his hands on. His recruitment is starting to take off and it should only continue as we get closer to spring football. We are interested to see if McClure will stay at the guard position or move to another spot along the offensive line in 2023.
Highlights
Heavener senior standout Jackson Clubb Jackson Clubb 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Heavener | 2024 OK was already on our list for this week’s film breakdown. And the timing just worked out to get a look at Clubb before we see him in person this weekend at our camp in Broken Arrow. And Clubb is a wide receiver and defensive back that we’re looking forward to seeing in person after seeing the film. The word we kept thinking about while going through clip after clip of Clubb is methodical. Clubb didn’t blow us away with his physical stature or overall speed but time after time, he found a way to get open, make a play on the ball and go score. The route running of Clubb definitely set him up to be in a position to make some serious plays last season and then you have to check out the hands because he made some pretty special catches. He also lined up on the defensive side of the ball at safety and made plenty of plays there but like Daniels above, we like Clubb on the offensive side of the ball for now. We’re looking forward to seeing him in person to see how that film translates to an in person evaluation. If he continues to improve his speed and overall get off at the line of scrimmage, he could be a big riser as a receiver prospect.
The other 2024 offensive lineman that you can expect to skyrocket up the rankings in June is Edmond Santa Fe big man Josh Aisosa Josh Aisosa 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Edmond Santa Fe | 2024 State OK and there are few guys at his position that are having better offseasons than him. And it’s easy to see why the recruitment and attention has started to take off as more people check out his film from last season. Aisosa is an absolute mauler along the line of scrimmage. You can tell pretty quickly when looking at offensive linemen who the guys are that love to hit and be incredibly physical. Aisosa might be at the top of that list in terms of the 2024 class. The Edmond Santa Fe big man is so aggressive at the point of attack and is a run-blocking machine. He lined up primarily as a right tackle last season and we wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up moving over to left tackle after the graduation of four-year starter Jonathan Ashford Jonathan Ashford 6’5″ | 290 lbs | OL Edmond Santa Fe | 2023 State OK . Aisosa is definitely a name that we need to see in person because the film is off the charts. He moves very well for his size and when he gets to where he’s going, look out, because bad things are about to happen to whoever he comes in contact with.
