For the 2023 LB class, we haven’t seen the depth at that position as we’ve seen in the 2021 and 2022 classes. However, we have seen a few prospects emerge and we have no doubt that we’ll see more as the season plays along. However, when it comes to the 2023 class, the linebacker group is definitely the weakest position as of right now in terms of depth.

In the last few seasons, we’ve seen a boom in 7v7 travel teams and tournaments and for us, we love it because it gives us more football to watch and cover. However, you always have to be careful with how it translates to Friday night’s. A player we saw this summer playing with Sooner 7 and having a great tournament down in Texas was Union’s

. We really liked what we saw from Fisher and some of the things that without a doubt translates is his size and athletic ability. During that tournament, he was a big factor as a pass catcher but we like what he brings to the linebacker position. Fisher is a young player on this Union team. But as he learns, he’ll grow into one of the top tacklers in 6A-D1. He hasn’t put a lot on tape so far and that’s why he comes in at #40 in our ranking update, but we believe he has a high ceiling.

Broken Arrow is absolutely loaded at the linebacker position and the beauty is that it’s not all in the senior class. They’ll have depth at that position for years. The sophomore of the group is

and the fact that he’s been able to break into this lineup as a sophomore shows you what these coaches think about Moore. And what a group of linebackers for him to learn from and grow as a player. You have senior

to help show you the ropes. Both of those players are top 30 players in their respective classes. Moore is right there as a top 30 player in his class as he comes in at #29 in our recent ranking update. Moore certainly has a lot of room to grow but we have no doubt that he’ll be in good hands on a team that has one of the best linebacker groups in the state.
