East’s QB1 Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Buffalo East | 2024 State NY went 12-21 for 160 yards and 1 touchdown and 40+ yards on the ground to help lead East to its first sectional title in 18 years. Showed collegiate arm talent throughout the game, hitting receivers in stride and throwing with great anticipation and putting the ball where only his receivers could catch it. Jackson is very comfortable throwing the football outside the numbers on deep dig, comeback and deep outs. Was named offensive player of the game.

Has completed 138 passes on 205 attempts, good for a 67% completion percentage on the season. Jackson has also tossed 24 Touchdowns against only 2 Interceptions on the year. Zymier has also added 491 yards on the ground averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Averages  243.4 yards passing per game along with 17.6 yards per completion.

The elite senior QB for East High School that simply has looked unstoppable all season long. Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Buffalo East | 2024 State NY is a true dual-threat QB that has a laser rocket arm. Jackson has been able to push the ball deep down the field on multiple occasions to hit his targets. The pure passing accuracy to make any type of throw was shown throughout Zymier’s tape. So far, Zymier has passed for 1,539 passing yards through 6 games. What impresses me the most about Jackson this season, is his poise in the pocket. Not locking on an intended target and going through his 2nd, 3rd, or 4th options was shown plenty of times. Even when pressure would be thrown into his face, Jackson was able to move out and hit his WR on the run. When Jackson does decide to run, his ability to make people miss in open space is electric. The ability to run away from defenders and turn a bad play into a positive one was shown throughout Jackson’s highlights. A big halfway point for arguably the best QB in Section V football.

Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Buffalo East | 2024 State NY is one of the best quarterbacks in New York when it comes to being a dangerous through on the run and moving in the pocket but also showing great reps as a passer. Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in New York when it comes to creating plays and generating positive yards from broken plays. This past season Jackson had 1939 yards passing, 18 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions. On the Ground Jackson added 283 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Jackson is elite and moving in the pocket and keeps his eyes down field moving outside the pocket. While there are some athletes at quarterback in this class who can make plays with their feet, Jackson is the best when it comes to still utilizing his arm when forced to adjust and create. Jackson has a thrower still can develop stronger footwork and fundamentals but in terms of pure arm strength and ability to make off platform throws at a high level Jackson has one of the highest ceilings in New York at the position.

Jackson’s tape is a collection of incredible plays that feature things not many other quarterbacks can do. What I want to see from Jackson is more consistency making the simple plays. Jackson is always seeking that huge play but with more consistency in the short and intermediate area of the field Jackson can becoming a much stronger recruit in the eyes of colleges. To counter my point about Jackson improving in the short areas of the field he is incredibly efficient as a player. For the style of quarterback he plays where the deep ball is such a huge part of his game, only 2 interceptions and 1 fumble on the season is incredible for a player that is often creating highlight reel plays on his own. Jackson takes risks as a quarterback but it pays off for him more than anyone in the class.

Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Buffalo East | 2024 State NY had one of the most efficient quarterback seasons in New York last season with a 9-to-1 TD to INT Ratio. Jackson is an incredible athlete and can make incredible off platform throws in the move. Jackson does a really good job of using movement in the pocket to extend his time to throw and make plays down the field. Jackson has really solid deep accuracy and throws longer passes with really solid touch. Jackson also is a threat with his legs, while Jackson is an incredible athlete he is really a pass-first type of player who will be patient outside the pocket to throw down the field. However, when Jackson has open lanes and space he is a threat as a runner. Overall Jackson is one of the most talented quarterbacks in New York especially when you consider that he still can make huge improvements in his accuracy and mechanics in the short and intermediate range of throws.

The blazing rocket arm on this QB from East High School really makes you raise your eyebrows with absolute shock. The pure ability to throw the football deep down the field with accuracy and with blazing velocity screams off the tape as you watch. I had straight chills and so much pure enjoyment watching Zymeir Jackson play the QB position. Jackson is 6’1”, weighs 170-pounds, and will be going into his senior year this upcoming season. This is a QB with a rare arm talent that can pick apart any defense if he keeps improving every day.When dropping back from under center or in shotgun, Jackson does an outstanding job of having clean footwork, staying balanced within the pocket, and then finally delivering a strike to the open receiver. If protection would unfortunately break down, he did a substantial job of getting out of trouble with his legs, and making a throw on the run. Additionally, the ability to rush for necessary yardage was put on full display throughout his tape. A handful of times he was able to rush to pick up the first down and in the process, make a defender miss in space.Jackson was named first team All-Star and AGR. He was also an honorable mention for first team All-State. This is a talented QB that has dreams of playing the game of football at the highest level. The latest goal he has on the mind is to win a state championship. Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Buffalo East | 2024 State NY was a really solid performer through camp. Jackson had one of the smoothest releases at camp and has really nice touch with the ability to change the trajectory on his ball flight. Jackson could have been a little more consistent taking him out of contention for our 1st and 2nd teams but some of the throws he made and the athleticism he displayed were a level above the rest of the quarterbacks. A really impressive camp from Jackson results in 3rd team selection.
