Anthony Diaz Anthony Diaz 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR East | 2024 State NY ‘s name should be Play Maker Diaz because of the constant plays he continues to make in big time games. Last night was another big game and another big performance by Diaz. On his very first defensive outing Diaz made 3 straight big open field tackle plays then followed those up with an 85 yard pick six that opened the games scoring. Highlights
Was very physical all night long for East on defense and special teams. From my count he had 7 tackles and 1 for loss and a touchdown reception in East’s championship win.
East’s QB1 Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6’1″ | 175 lbs | QB East | 2024 State NY went 12-21 for 160 yards and 1 touchdown and 40+ yards on the ground to help lead East to its first sectional title in 18 years. Showed collegiate arm talent throughout the game, hitting receivers in stride and throwing with great anticipation and putting the ball where only his receivers could catch it. Jackson is very comfortable throwing the football outside the numbers on deep dig, comeback and deep outs. Was named offensive player of the game.

Showed exactly why he’s probably one of the top running backs in section v regardless of classification. Helped to spark and power the Brighton offense all night, ripping off timely big runs to keep the Bruins. Gavin scored the only touchdown of the game for Brighton en route to his 203 yards on 31 carry performance.
The junior defensive lineman who’s also the section leader in tackles and tackles for loss, was doubled and tripled teamed all night. And was a focal point of the Brighton Bruins offensive lineman. Had several QB pressures and allowed his Linebackers to clean up and make plays as he occupied two blockers on almost every play. Only a junior and should be even more of a force come next week during the state playoffs. Named defensive player of the game
