09/14: McQuaid Jesuit vs Fairport
There is nothing like Thursday night football games, especially when it is McQuaid Jesuit going against Fairport High School in a high scoring affair. The team that won the game was McQuaid Jesuit as they scored 35 points compared to 28 points scored by Fairport. It was a thrilling game that ended in Fairport recovering an onside kick, but McQuaid’s defense was able to hold off Fairport in the red zone to secure the win. Once again for McQuaid, their QB Will DiMarco Will DiMarco 6'0" | 205 lbs | QB McQuaid | 2025 NY was able to play a huge game through the air and on the ground. One of the most underrated plays of the game was a tough catch made over the middle by Allen Nesmith for a first down. DiMarco was able to make a brilliant throw to Nesmith, who took a huge hit and was still able to hold onto the football for the first down. Senior WR Brenton Paladino Brenton Paladino 6'6" | 170 lbs | WR McQuaid | 2024 NY was also able to score a huge TD where he was able to get wide open for DiMarco to find him way over on the left-side of the field. On the Fairport side of the ball, Sam Pucci Sam Pucci 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Fairport | 2024 State NY once again was able to make a freakish diving catch on a 3rd and 7 to pick up the first down and made an outstanding 18-yard back shoulder catch for the touchdown. Fairport ended the football game with 415 total yards, and 266 of those yards came through the air. It was such a battle and a great game on both sides. It will be fun to see these two offenses continue to roll the rest of the way.
Highlights
09/14: East vs Spencerport
Another battle that took place on Thursday evening was when Spencerport traveled on the road to take on East High School. This game was heavily in favor of East as they rolled over Spencerport 53 to 6. One of the biggest plays for East was when DB Ervin Wiggins Ervin Wiggins 5'9" | 175 lbs | DB East | 2024 State NY Jr., had a pick 6 to blow the game open. Wiggins Jr. made a number of big time plays to help his defense out. East has now improved to a record of 3-0 and continues to look like one of the strongest teams in Section V. One of the biggest contributors to the success that East High School has had is their QB Zymier Jackson Zymier Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB East | 2024 State NY . In this game against Spencerport, Jackson was effective on the ground with his legs, and through the air with his accurate passes. Jackson showed his ability to stay poised in the pocket and go through his passing progressions at a consistent level. One of Jackson’s favorite targets was Perrion Lee Williams who was able to score three times for East. One of the touchdowns was an impressive catch and run where Williams broke three tackles on his way to the end zone. This East team is a very great team that is going to be a challenge for any Section V football team to beat.

09/15: Honeoye Falls-Lima vs Batavia
Friday night showcased a great matchup between Honeoye Falls-Lima and Batavia where the game ended in a 21 to 14 score with Honeoye Falls-Lima squeezing out the victory. For Honeoye Falls-Lima, their QB named Matthew Meacham Matthew Meacham 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Honeoye Falls-Lima | 2024 State NY played an outstanding game where he passed for 165-yards. Early in the 2nd quarter, Meacham was able to find his receiver Andrew Wanzenried in the corner of the end zone for an 11-yard TD pass. On the play, Matthew conducted a brilliant pump fake to get the Batavia DB to bite on the stop and go route. Later in the game, Meacham was also able to deliver a great 49-yard pass to Landon Hammond and 13-yard pass rolling out of the pocket to find his man right on the boundary. To put the game away, Meacham and Wanzenried connected one last time for a 5-yard TD grab where Hammond made an outstanding leaping catch on a slant route. On the defensive side of the ball for Honeoye Falls-Lima, it was also a big game for defensive linemen Austyn Crego Austyn Crego 6'1" | 225 lbs | OL Honeoye Falls-Lima | 2024 NY who recorded a sack and 3 tackles on the Batavia offense.

09/16: Churchville-Chili vs Wilson Magnet
When it came to the Saturday games in Section V, Churchville-Chili put on a high scoring game against Wilson Magnet when they scored 41 points! The game was close at times, but Churchville-Chili really showed the complementary football that they have on both side of the ball. QB Chase Shepanski Chase Shepanski 5'11" | 150 lbs | QB Churchville-Chili | 2024 State NY for Churchville-Chili had a nice outing with 119 passing yards. Shepanski was able to deliver a couple of impressive off-balance throws on the run. The majority of the throws were comeback routes. One of those accurate throws was a 4-yard TD pass on the run when facing 4th and 4. It was a great job early in the game to execute in a tight moment by Shepanski. In the 4th quarter, Shepanski was able to sit in the pocket and deliver a 13-yard TD pass to completely seal the win away. The defense for Churchville-Chili was also able to create an impactful turnover with a fumble recovery to set up their offense in great field position. Additionally, CB Eric Neal Eric Neal 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Churchville Chili | 2024 State NY was able to return an INT for a touchdown to really flip the momentum of the game in the 2nd quarter. The game really got out of hand for Wilson Magnet after the INT, and Churchville-Chili just ran away with the lead.
