Expert Analysis

Meacham – a top 10 quarterback can really spin it and the HFL multi-year starter is one of the most dangerous passers from the pocket in New York. Meacham consistently was able to work all parts of the field from the pocket with good velocity and ball placement. The Fighting Scots return their top two quarterbacks but both being upperclassman gives Meacham time to continue developing his game.

has a really quality release with one of the most sound lower bodies when it comes to his mechanics. A really nice arm that can make throws at all three levels including the 12-yard out from the opposite hashmark throw that we see so many QBs struggle with. He has good pocket awareness and a good understanding of being quick to throw but still with good poise and patience. A name to know through the fall as we know he already will put up numbers put the key to more recruiting interest and some offers could be getting HFL to the State Championship game which we saw really boosted some kids recruitment in the lower classes last season.

has some of the best mechanics as a thrower in this entire class, the Honeoye Falls-Lima signal caller had a strong season as a true pro-style passer where he had 1,812 yards passing, 24 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, and a 61.9% completion percentage. Meacham has great patience in the pocket and does a fantastic job of using movement in the pocket to create more time to continue getting through progressions down the field. Meacham has good accuracy throughout all three levels of the field and does a good job of making throws in the middle of the field through tight spaces. Meacham has really nice touch on throws and there is not a quarterback in this class who looks easier to catch balls from than Meacham. I think Meacham as a passer has a clear fit at the next level and already has a year of really solid tape under his belt.
Where Meacham can improve is that he is a non-factor with his legs past the line of scrimmage, Meacham is a little thin at 170lbs which is small for the next level and while taking hits is inevitable showing some success at creating positive yards as a runner would add another element to his game. While Meacham by no means needs to become a leading rusher or anything near that for HFL, just showing some ability to pick up first downs on the ground and add another element to his game would certainly help. The concept of a Pro-Style passer has evolved and even guys who are clearly passers first and runners second need to be able to showcase the ability to generate positive running plays. Meacham also plays at a low competition level making his true ceiling tougher to evaluate but his ability to showcase the arm talent to make throws at all three levels of the field on a consistent basis on tape determines that he has a fairly high floor in terms of making it to the next level.

. This is a 6’2”, 170-pound QB that excels at working in the pocket at a high level. The ability to have a clean drop back, stand strong in the pocket, and run through his progressions deep down the field stood out tremendously. Numerous times, he was able to feel the pass rush, step up and deliver a strike.
Such a clean ability to place the ball into tight windows. There were plenty of throws that Meacham made on tape that were perfectly placed over the WRs shoulders. His WRs made troubled-free catches a lot just because of how well-placed his passes were. His passing mechanics are strong, and I was very impressed with his feet. So many times, he was able to slide, and move out of the pocket because of how clean his footwork was.
Meacham loves the game of football and want to play the game at the highest level he can. This is a competitor that loves to win and hates to lose. A very accomplished football player that also has set goals to better himself not only as a player but a teammate as well. Some of his accomplishments are he was named First Team “All Show” at the Show by Next Gen, First Team Class B Section V All Star, and AGR First Team All Star. This upcoming year, he has sights on leading his team to a sectional title and make a run at states.
