He has good speed and a willingness to hit, which makes him an excellent run defender. He can come down in the slot and defend in man coverage. He’s a nversatile chess piece for Cleveland to deploy.

McDonald plays a hybrid safety-linebacker role at American Leadership Academy and he fits that role well. He’s unafraid of contact and is willing to bang around in the box. I’d like to see him continue to hone his coverage skills on the back end, but he’s an excellent, high-upside safety prospect.
