Perry Meridian Class of 2029 defensive lineman Wesley Clary will be a name to know. Very good athlete. Quick in/out of the L-cone drill, can flip his hips, dips his shoulders well and turns the corner. Solid size for a freshman/rising sophomore. Displays a twitchy first step and good bend underneath the pads in one on ones. Had 23 total tackles and one sack and one forced fumble as a freshman, but would expect him to take off in a big way this fall.

has through-the-roof upside as a Class of 2029 defensive ned. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound edge prospect is a very good run defender who takes great angles to the ball. Clary is very twitchy, with great first-step quickness, great pursuit angles and flashing ability to dip his shoulder, run the hoop and take great angles as a dynamic pass rusher. Clary recorded 23 tackles and one sack last season; expect bigger things in 2026.

Clary came out even though he was unable to perform due to an injury sustained in a wrestling match the day prior. Since he signed up and made the effort to come out, I wanted to make sure I got an evaluation out on him, so I watched his freshman film. I really liked what I saw. He’s very advanced for a freshman. Clary’s length and athleticism really pop. He’s a versatile defensive end who can play the run and the pass. In the run game he shows the ability to anchor and shed. In the pass game he has a really nice dip move where he dips and gets skinny to win on either the inside or out. He has active hands and knows how to counter.

Clary has had a solid freshman season, especially as we near the end of the regular season. He’s gained a ton of confidence this year and looks the part. He’s quick, strong, doesn’t take reps off, and can move around up front. I really like his potential versatility and the fact he could drop back into the flats when asked. He’s got 19 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 1 sack, and a fumble recovery on the season.
