Good showing from Andover’s Tristen Chenoweth Tristen Chenoweth 6'1" | 171 lbs | DB Andover | 2027 State MN , who is already building some momentum thanks to some positive track and field PRs this spring, particularly in the 100M. Long, tested well, and despite the height/length, Chenoweth could shut down and drop his hips suddenly and smoothly. I think he’s asserted himself as a legitimate scholarship DB with a high likliehood of success at an NSIC competitor.

It has been a quiet offseason for Andover’s Tristen Chenoweth Tristen Chenoweth 6'1" | 171 lbs | DB Andover | 2027 State MN . Too, quiet, if you ask us! The long, rangy, dynamic, two-way producer was initially an offseason eye-catcher thanks to his work on the 7v7 circuit, but that was a couple years ago, and Chenoweth has done a good job of developing his long, lean frame and transitioning his skillset to varsity, 6A production on both sides of the ball. However, after a move to corner, things have been quiet on the recruiting front for the 2027, so PRZMN was incredibly excited to get some updated and verified, not to mention impressive, track and field times as a junior this spring. Chenoweth has PRed with a 11.20 100M, 22.93 200M, 19’4.5″ long jump, good times for a prospect of his size, and it really puts an exciting context and backdrop into the rangy junior’s tape.
Chenoweth is a deep threat who can beat and stack DBs at the LOS and in his releases, plus he plays and track the deep ball well. He’s also elusive and strong after the catch, but his best work comes on the defensive side of the ball as a CB. The Andover product’s length aides him at the catch point, and he can stay sticky and remain in the hip pocket of a WR with ease. He’s also a physical presence from the CB spot in run defense and triggers on the ball quickly, closing with both pace and intention. Additionally, he breaks on the ball quickly and effectively and blocked a punt in 2025. I could see some serious scholarship offers getting thrown his way this summer, contingent on some strong in-person showings. Remember the name!

I first got my eyes on Andover’s Tristen Chenoweth Tristen Chenoweth 6'1" | 171 lbs | DB Andover | 2027 State MN at the somewhat recent E7United 7v7 Tryout, where the sophomore popped off the play of the day in an eye-catching display of athleticism in which he perfectly timed a fade ball, lept what looked like 3+ feet in the air, and brought down a high-pointed snag in ridiculous fashion. The E7United coaches had nothing but high praise for Chenoweth as well, sharing anecdotes of their college coaching friends seeing Chenoweth and leaving in awe, and after seeing the sophomore both padded and unpadded, I’m in the same camp. Chenoweth is a legit 6’2 with long arms and a frame with significant room to fill in, and he was a varsity starter at CB for 5A heavyweight Andover in 2024. This dude’s film pops, and it’s not only because Chenoweth has eye-catching size and length for the CB position.
The long-strider opens his tape with another beautiful display of body control and bounce in a high-pointed INT on a wheel route against SLP, after which he lands on his feet and looks to score from deep in his side of the field, and he forced a fumble on kickoff coverage with a well-placed punch for even more turnover capability. Chenoweth had a great display of top-end speed in a beautiful chase down of a loose Mankato West RB as the backside CB. You can see him shift up in gears to close on the RB, and if he was running at full speed from the jump he’d have saved even more yardage. He doesn’t waste steps and does a good job of cleanly getting out of his breaks in pass defense, closes with pace and is physical at the catch point, and is an explosive cut tackler who goes all-out into contact effectively and impressively. The sophomore tape is seeping through with athleticism at every possible crack. Can’t wait to see this dude on the camp circuit.
