Tristan’s transition to offensive tackle has been fairly seamless, and his hard work is not going unnoticed. He has earned a handful of D1 offers, showing these colleges absolutely see the potential. He has continued to work on his frame, but being 6’6 opens up a lot of possibilities. He has added weight, remained coachable and has steadily improved his technique. Even at the tight end position, he was always an aggressive and effective blocker who loved to finish his blocks with a pancake. He has taken that mentality inside to the tackle position and began to blossom. Colleges are seeing the potential and seem to be excited about what he can bring to their program.

Comer has been a great high school football player for a very long time. In fact, we’ve been following Comer since his freshman season.
Recently, Tristan has fully made the switch to offensive tackle. Coaches tout his balance, ability to bend, and generally how quickly Tristian is developing. He’s transformed from a kid with zero offers to a fringe Power 4 prospect. I can count on one hand the number of prospects who rise as quickly as Tristian. He should be able to seamlessly use what he’s learned this offseason to dominate the 2025 season.

Comer has been on our radar since mid-2022. In June 2022, our former General Manager, Jake Lemming, featured him in a “Michigan’s Top Incoming Freshmen” article alongside names like

. Jake praises Tristan’s athleticism and physicality, and even predicts he might be best suited at offensive tackle.
Throughout Tristan’s High School career, I viewed him as a Tight End, and I’m pretty sure that’s what he viewed himself as until recently. Long story short, I really liked him as a Tight End, but it seems like the move of Offensive Tackle is really paying off.
Same as three years ago, Tristan’s Junior tape shows great physicality, while his basketball tape highlights his athletic ability. Tristian has the size, bend, and physical nature to be a great tackle at the Division 1 level. On tape, and when I saw him in person a few months ago at Legacy, it’s apparent that Tristan needs to work on his footwork and hand placement. Though, he’s well on his way. Keep up the work, keep developing, and Tristan will earn the attention of even more MAC programs.

Big 6’7 250 with a good frame you can’t coach, can hold more weight. Strong run blocker with a quick first step and good climb to 2nd level. Should have Power 4 offers just given his size and frame.

I just mentioned Comer a couple of times, but he absolutely deserves a spot in this article. We had considered him a Tight End for the better part of 3 years, but now, he’s a very high-upside tackle prospect.
- Good height- not sure if he’s quite 6’6″, but 6’4″ at least
- VERY athletic for a tackle prospect- background in basketball helps a ton
- Coachable
- A solid punch and able to win pass reps against good EDGE rushers
- Still very raw- needs reps to work on footwork, balance, IQ, etc.
- Physical on tape

I’m extremely intrigued to see how the market views Tristian this offseason. For most of his career, I believe he was a Tight End. Now, he seems to have made the switch to tackle.
I don’t have too many notes on Comer from the showcase- mainly that he was the most athletic lineman in attendance, but his fundamentals were pretty raw. He still displayed great effort, a decent punch, and I can tell that he’s not completely lost with the fundamentals. Plus, on tape, Tristian is pretty dang physical.
Tristian’s size, proven physicality, and stardom on the basketball court make for an extremely intriguing tackle prospect for this recruiting cycle. I’d fully expect a GLIAC school to take a shot at Tristian, but we’ll see.

Strengths
- Effort
- Physicality
- Size
- Blocking
- Dual-Sport and two-way player
Weaknesses
- Weak strength of schedule
- Very few routes run
- Not as explosive as other D1 prospects
Elite size, great physicality, and being a great two-way and dual-sport player make for a very high-upside small-school athlete. Sleeper in this class. A good chance that, with D1-level coaching, Tristan develops into a phenomenal Tight End or Tackle. In other words, raw in many areas but potentially a major sleeper. If Tristian has a great work ethic, he has a chance to be a phenomenal college football player.
Great leverage while blocking. Drives through his block. A good athlete. Unproven receiver.

Offensively, Tristan is making the transition from TE to Tackle, and I think this move is working out better than I even expected. He’s an aggressive blocker with a mean streak in the run game. Defensively, I feel like that’s his strongest position. His long arms keep blockers out of his chest, and he is able to turn plays back inside or just make the play himself. I am really starting to like what I see from him as a prospect on the defensive side of the ball.

Tristian is an incredibly unique prospect. You rarely see a prospect that excels so much in two sports. In Tristian’s case, he’s as good of a football prospect as he is a basketball prospect.
It’s challenging to sift through Tristian’s hudl to find his football tape. However, there are a lot of instances of great blocking and physicality from the tape that I can find. I’m honestly not too sure how good of a receiver Tristian is, but I would bet he’s passable in that department. Still a great prospect, still one of the best TEs out there, just needs to put up some more film this coming season.

Comer is one of the kids I have been high on for a good while now, and I really think he has a chance to blow up this fall. He does hold 1 D1 offer from Central Michigan from 2021, but he hasn’t gotten a ton of attention since. I think with a solid season this fall, he could wind up stacking offers. He’s a big physical TE at about 6’7, and right now his strength is blocking, though he does display some nice catching ability. He still has some polishing to do, but he has the thing you can’t teach and that is size. I see that he has a good amount of camps lined up for this spring and summer, and I expect him to catch the eye of a few colleges in the process.
