Expert Analysis
Zack Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Mitchell was a new addition to the 2026 rankings with the productive senior season he put together in the Sierra Vista secondary. The 6’2″/165 DB tallied 46 tackles and 7 INTs on the season. He’s a versatile defender that showed the ability to play CB and S with the speed, instincts, and physicality he plays with. He’s a fluid mover, closes space quickly, and is an aggressive tackler that can make plays around the LOS. Mitchell has brought in some Juco offers since the end of the season and should be on the radar of D-III programs looking to add versatile playmaking in the secondary.

Mitchell ranks among the state’s leading interception producers with 7 in his breakout senior season. He’s an instinctive defensive back that offers strong upside in his athleticism and ball skills with proven turnover production on the ball. He possesses the speed and agility to stay in-phase with wideouts, shows some versatility playing safety and boundary CB, and tracks the ball extremely well. He’s fluid in coverage, packs useful length in his 6’2″/165 frame, and plays physical at the LOS in press coverage. Mitchell is one of the biggest midseason risers among Las Vegas’ DBs with the senior season he’s putting together.
