About Thompson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Last year was my first year playing LB, and I moved to that position from SS because of team needs. I can play off the edge or inside and, despite being an under-sized LB, I can shed blocks to make tackles. I can read offenses well, I anticipate where the ball is going and I can set the edge well on outside runs. I play physical and love running completely through my tackles.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to work hard both in the gym and on the field, and I love the game of football. I continue to learn as much as I can about the game and in my free time I love to learn new techniques and strategies to gain an advantage where I can. I can be serious when it matters, but I know how to have fun too. Family and friends are important to me, and I show up for them when I need to.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm involved with my church youth group and work with a JustServe club at school, which focuses on providing service in the community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am naturally more of an introvert and through my youth, I tried to lead by example (through my play on the field). I am learning that it's also important to communicate with my teammates both on and off the field, to build relationships and to lead more effectively. I continue to work hard at leading by example as well.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I missed a majority of my freshman year due to a broken hand. I fought hard to come back stronger that next year, and earned significant playing time on Varsity as a sophomore. It was difficult to miss that season, but I used it as motivation. Separately, I come from a big family, and we have experienced physical and spiritual hardships that have brought us closer and strengthened our faith.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college with good academics and a solid football program that is lead by coaches who lead by example, who believe in God, and who build their players up.

Foulger had 104 tackles, 9 for a loss, four interceptions and two forced fumbles for Dana Hills this season.

He’s a quick reactor at linebacker and does a very good job evading blocks at the second level. As a blitzer, he closes to the ball quickly and is a low tackler. He projects better as a safety at the college level and showed some more promise in pass coverage as a senior than he did as a junior.
