2026 Offensive Lineman Thomas Yamashita Thomas Yamashita 6'5" | 295 lbs | OL Chaparral | 2026 State AZ will be the headline in the trenches for Chaparral, both offensively and defensively. At 6’5, 295 lbs, he is a force to be reckoned with, especially playing at the guard position. The first thing Yamashita’s game screams is strength. He is strong at the point of attack and has no problem driving defensive tackles off the line of scrimmage to open wide-open gaps in the middle for his running back. He gets remarkably low pad level, allowing him to leverage and put opposing linemen on their backs. He is a reliable anchor in the passing game and has solid quickness to keep up with speed moves on the interior. Yamashita offers a great deal to the Chaparral team, and he will be a major component in their offensive success this season.

Yamashita debuts in the updated 2026 state rankings inside the top 50 overall and the #5 at the OL position. He’s got ideal size and length in his frame at 6’5” 295 lbs. with the positional versatility to play both OG and OT. He’s a natural bender with good flexibility and movement skills from his stance to initial contact. Shows good recognition of different defensive fronts/stunts and the ability to react during the play to stay in front. Operates well as a puller and when blocking in space. His strength in the weight room translates well to the football field. Good size and foundational skillset to develop on that will land him D1 college attention.
