This was my first in-person look at top 2028 QB Thatcher Shelton Thatcher Shelton 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Lincoln Southwest | 2028 State NE who had an overall very efficient performance that also featured some big throws. Thatcher looked natural leading the Silver Hawks offense, displaying the poise to sit and work through his progressions along with the football IQ to make smart reads. Thatcher has a strong arm that can zip passes into tight windows and can push the ball deep downfield. We didn’t get to see his full dual-threat abilities in the 7v7 format but he did show off his mobility and footwork that allow him to maneuver the pocket and be effective throwing on rollouts. This was definitely a great way for Thatcher to tune up for what could be a breakout campaign.

Newly minted QB1 in the 2028 cycle, Thatcher Shelton Thatcher Shelton 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Lincoln Southwest | 2028 State NE , is a player we are telling coaches to buy stock in early. He is fresh off his first full season as a starter for the Silver Hawks and recorded 1,256 passing yards and 12 touchdowns, along with flashing his top-tier athleticism. Thatcher has already started to gain attention from nearby FCS programs and has taken a visit to South Dakota State. Shelton also competed at the Navy All-American combine, setting himself up for more national attention.

Lincoln Southwest’s Thatcher Shelton Thatcher Shelton 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Lincoln Southwest | 2028 State NE gave us several glimpses of his tremendous upside in his first season as the Silver Hawks starting QB. Thatcher is an excellent athlete who was able to make defenses pay with his arm and legs, totaling 1,095 passing yards, 161 rushing yards, nine passing touchdowns, and three rushing touchdowns in as a sophomore. What really stood out about Thatcher was his twitch and speed with a reported 4.48 40-yard dash, which really seemed to translate onto the field, where he was able to evade pass rushers, outrun pursuit angles, and break away from defenses. On top of being elusive, he also displays great balance through contact with a strong base and quick footwork. As a passer, Shelton has a strong arm that can zip throws into tight windows over the middle of the field and won’t hesitate to pull the trigger when he sees the deep ball available. Great vision for the field, and he will only continue to improve his reads now that he has starting experience under his belt. Thatcher is a standout on the track with a reported 10.69 100m time and could use this T&F season as a springboard for his football recruitment. Buy stock now!

Sophomore Thatcher Shelton Thatcher Shelton 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Lincoln Southwest | 2028 State NE is an interesting name to keep a close eye on this fall as he makes the push to be the Silver Hawks’ starting QB. Shelton didn’t see a ton of varsity time as a freshman, but he has been very busy this offseason with some eye-opening performances at summer camp. Thatcher put his athleticism on full display at the Ole Miss camp with a reported 4.48 40-yard dash, 34.8″ vertical jump, and a 9’5″ broad jump, showcasing the explosiveness that makes him such a high-ceiling prospect. I’m looking forward to getting some more looks at Thatcher as a passer, but he already flashes a big arm that can push the ball downfield while delivering the ball with solid timing. Lots of opportunities for Thatcher to shine in 2025!
