Cam has been one each week that I feel runs downhill with more instiniction, knowing exactly where the open field lies beyond the first level of the field as that was evident in Lincoln Southwest’s 43-0 win against Fremont. He’s also gotten more elusive it seems each week especially utilizing his change of direction thru contact as well. Plenty of upside growing quickly for the 2028 running back that is currently our RB5 in the 2028 Nebraska rankings.

Junior RB Cam Rakowsky Cam Rakowsky 5'10" | 160 lbs | RB Lincoln Southwest | 2028 State NE had a huge breakout performance at this tournament, even earning offensive MVP of the day. Cam is primarily a RB, but really impressed with his receiving skills, showing he can catch out of the backfield or line up as a receiver. He possesses elite twitch and agility making him very slippery as a route runner, especially going through his breaks. Combine that with explosive speed and you can see why he was beating DBs clean at the LOS. He finds and attacks the ball as a “hands” catcher with the strength to hold on through contact. Rakowsky can also make the first defender miss then turn on the burners to separate from defenses en route to a TD. Great athlete set to take off this season!

Lincoln Southwest’s Cam Rakowsky Cam Rakowsky 5'10" | 160 lbs | RB Lincoln Southwest | 2028 State NE was a nice surprise in this round of updates after producing great film and solid production as a sophomore. Cam ended the year with 42 carries, 204 rushing yards, 151 receiving yards, a rushing touchdown, and a receiving touchdown. Cam was an exciting player to watch on tape as he flashed his shifty running style and playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. Rakowsky really impressed with how twitchy he is as a runner, showing he can make quick, subtle cuts to evade defenders in tight quarters, which is guided by his clean footwork. He sees the field very well and does a great job following his blocks as they get set up in front of him. Good speed that can help him win to the corner. Cam is also flashed as a receiver out of the backfield. Lots to like with this Silver Hawks back!
