The 2nd of the Moorhead star-studded 2027 trio that is making substantial noise on the recruiting trail this spring, RB Taye Reich Taye Reich 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Moorhead | 2027 State MN is undoubtedly one of the spring’s biggest recruiting winners. After camping with Kansas State and earning an offer in June, 2024, Reich popped off in late March, earning his second P4 offer from the home state Golden Gophers, and the North Dakota State Bison joined in a month later with an offer. Reich is absurdly athletic for his age, with unpadded camp setting testing numbers that would knock your socks off and two years of varsity starting experience already under his belt with the 5A turned 6A Spuds. Great vision, twitchy in space, and possessing homerun speed, Reich is the best RB prospect Minnesota has produced since Jeff Jones, maybe Jason Williamson, although the latter wasn’t necessarily projected to RB at the next level. Can’t wait to see him and his Spuds teammates against 6A defenders in 2025.

Another sophomore running back with a promising future, Reich rushed for 601 yards and 10 TDs on an impressive 8.7 ypc last fall. He also was an uber-productive target for his QB, as he brought down 313 receiving yards and 4 TDs through the air. On his tape, Reich is a patient runner who waits for the play to develop before exploding through a gap for a massive gain. He’s a slippery back who can bounce off defenders and consistently proves how dangerous he is in open space. His straight-line speed impresses me and his pass-catching ability mimics that of a receiver. Moorhead’s 2027 class is loaded and Reich is a dangerous piece of that offense.
