Defensively, Woodman hunts for the football. When defending the run, Woodman is quick to angle his pursuit and can blow up plays at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. In pass coverage, Woodman can line up at both safety and cornerback. He’s proven that he can jam a receiver and the line of scrimmage out wide, and also protect his zone as a safety. Woodman doesn’t shy away from contact and is quick enough to protect the edge, which is also why his coaches feel comfortable placing him at outside linebacker when needed as well.
