Newly Ranked Seniors to Keep on Your Radar in 2026

The new Class of 2027 rankings have been out for over a week now on Prep Redzone Kentucky, and there are over a dozen new names added to the updated rankings. Let's take a look at five who have major breakout potential this season. [player_tooltip player_id='2252098' first='Tanner' last='Woodman'] plays both wide receiver and defensive back for Ashland Blazer and is even a standout on special teams. Defensively, Woodman hunts for the football. When defending the run, Woodman is quick to angle his pursuit and can blow up plays at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. In pass coverage, Woodman can line up at both safety and cornerback. He's proven that he can jam a receiver and the line of scrimmage out wide, and also protect his zone as a safety. Woodman doesn't shy away from contact and is quick enough to protect the edge, which is also why his coaches feel comfortable placing him at outside linebacker when needed as well.     [player_tooltip player_id='2166247' first='Christian' last='Hart'] was one of the most prolific pass rushers at the 1A level in Kentucky last season, finishing his junior campaign with 8.0 sacks. He's swift while playing as an EDGE rusher and can blow by opposing offensive tackles who don't have a quick first step. However, he's also a strong option on the offensive side of the football, too. Hart plays tight end and finished last season with 408 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He ended up being a serious vertical threat for Washington County. However, Hart made the most of his opportunities with the football to prove his athleticism and overall football IQ. I project him best as an EDGE rusher at the next level.     [player_tooltip player_id='2136475' first='Isaiah' last='Bridges'] is a ball-hawking defensive back for South Warren, as he finished the 2025 season with five interceptions. He's also a return specialist and scored a kickoff return touchdown in the state championship game last season. On the defensive side of the ball, Bridges does a good job of maintaining his zone as a safety and anticipating throws in his area. He has great hands and has the speed and agility to stick with longer receivers on their routes. He has also demonstrated that he can jump routes and knock balls free through contact.     [player_tooltip player_id='1645034' first='BJ' last='Flowers'] is a versatile defensive back who can play both cornerback and safety. He plays downhill and does a great job of not letting ball carriers pass him. Flowers is a run-stuffer who can break out of his stance, read the play, and quickly find his pursuit angle to make a play for his defense. Flowers is a great tackler in the open field as well. In coverage, Flowers has shown he can get a hand between the receiver and the ball, and provides Male with a spark in the secondary as a hard-hitter at the point of contact.     [player_tooltip player_id='2099033' first='Brad' last='Roaden'] is an explosive linebacker for Dixie Heights who can be plugged anywhere in the box and succeed. The versatile defender is most effective against the run and doesn't let players get by him on the outside. He's impressive at middle linebacker, stuffing the run between the guard and tackle. However, he's at his best along the edge one-on-one against opposing offensive tackles. Roaden finished the 2025 season with 80 total tackles (40 solo) to go along with 4.0 sacks, 2.0 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles.
