. First takeaway, Johnson has a sound quick set and solid anchor strength. He can dig in, absorb the bull rush of DL, and shut down their attempts to win with power. Tanner uses his long reach to get that initial contact so he can gain control. The big man slides laterally in short areas well, and we saw him move laterally pretty easily in the run blocking clip. I believe he fits best on the interior at the next level. There he can use that short area agility, anchor strength, and superior length to win consistently.

The first OL I want to highligth is the junior out of Greendale HS. Checking in at 6’3″ 280 lbs, Tanner played like a next level interior offensive lineman. I focused on the OL group when we got to the one on one battles, and Tanner was an early attention grabber. The big man was at his best when he lined up at the guard positions. He has built a strong base that gives him the anchor strength to absorb and stuff bull rushes. His 77″ wingspan allowed him to make initial contact and swallow up DL. The lateral agility was adequate for him to be able to make the subtle side to side adjustments while maintaining his block to stay square on the defense. Greendale has produced multiple next level OL, and Tanner looks like he is next up.
