Joel is one of the biggest steals that the Class of 2027 has to offer here in WI for offensive linemen. Joel has the size of a future standout IOL. He also has the strength and nasty mentality needed to get him on the field at the next level sooner rather than later. At the Lake Show we got an exciting look at it. In board drills and run game battles the big man was an overwhelming force to the DL he faced. He always got hands inside, kept a wide base, and from there could churn his legs and have DL running backwards. Even in pass pro we saw that power on display as he would instantly absorb bull rushes and eliminate the DL power. That power plays on top of a reliable set of feet too that were able to move DL, and also keep himself square and in positions of power without getting caught reaching. Big things are ahead for the Greendale product.

I have not been lucky enough to see Joel perform in person in his career, yet. I’m hoping this summer that comes to an end. The big man out of Greendale has earned an offer from Upper Iowa already this offseason and has Junior Day invites from essentially every D2 in the surrounding states. On tape Joel appears to be a very long athlete that carries his 280 lbs extremely well on what looks like a clean frame that can hold even more size. The Greendale RT has a strong set of hands too that clamp and control his man very early in the play and from there the big man just has to move his feet and either flex his anchor in pass pro or show off how he can move DL in the run game. I hope to catch up with Joel at a padded big man camp or Mega Camp somewhere in WI.
