The ’26 linebacker class is looking dangerous, and now we can add Algona’s Taevyn Zinnel Taevyn Zinnel 5'11" | 190 lbs | LB Algona | 2026 State IA to the list. During his junior season, Zinnel racked up 44 tackles, nine TFLs, and four sacks at outside linebacker. Zinnel brings some juice off the edge with a quick first step and nice bend when rounding the corner. He is smart at playing his gaps and can fire through them with great explosiveness. Taevyn showed nice twitch and hand usage at the line of scrimmage when disengaging from blockers. Once he’s locked in on his target, Taevyn attacks like a heat-seaking missile, showing impressive closing speed to track down ball carriers and shut down long gains. Effective floating out in coverage. Get this guy on campus asap!
