Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Manske balled out as an Algona junior last season. He threw for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns, and added 745 yards (5.6 YPC) and 10 scores on the ground. On defense, he registered 48.5 tackles, 27 of which were solo stops, and intercepted three passes. The 11th-grade highlight video reveals a well-rounded athlete capable of helping college programs on either side of the ball and special teams. If development behind center stalls, Manske is capable of carving out of path to success at receiver or in the secondary. The quarterback skills are worth continuing to develop. He owns a strong arm and athleticism to move the pocket or ding defenses on designed runs. Manske has room to add good weight and strength in a college conditioning program.

Nathan Manske Nathan Manske 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Algona | 2027 State IA entered 2025 with lofty expectations to live up in the footsteps of his older brother, and it will certainly be difficult to match up to those high standards, but Manske gave promise in his first full year as a starter. Manske finished with 1502 passing yards, 14 TDs, and 8 INTs while rushing for a team-high 745 yards (5.6 YPC) and 10 TDs. He also recorded 48.5 tackle and 3 INTs on defense. Manske performs well under Center, proving to be a solid leader who can stretch the ball down the field and adds range as a dual-threat QB who can beat defenses with his legs. Manske is no ways a bad starting QB, and I think he has the potential to shock a lot of people in his senior season.

Algona took a step back in 2025, losing several close games that could have brought a brighter outcome toward their overall record, and while Nathan Manske Nathan Manske 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Algona | 2027 State IA had his share of ups and downs facing the daunting task of succeeding his brother Alex as the starter for the Bulldogs, Manske continued to show clear flashes of his potential. Manske finished with 1502 yards, 14 TDs, and 8 INTs while also leading the team with 745 rushing yards (5.6 YPC) and 10 rushing TDs. Manske continues to flash the big arm, impressive dual-threat ability, and overall leadership of the offense compared to that of his brother for the Bulldogs, albeit not with the results he was quite expecting. With much of the team’s top offensive starters and his receivers graduating after 2025, Manske’s task leading the offense may seem more daunting entering his senior season, but he remains a dark horse candidate for stardom in 2026.

is headed to Iowa State. Nathan stepped in nicely when his number was called, completing 61% of his passes for 860 yards and 10 touchdowns. From clips I’ve seen, Nathan has shown a live arm that can deliver an accurate ball to his receivers. Manske should also be a threat on the ground, considering he rushed for 140 yards and four touchdowns. Big season coming!
