A nine-win season for Algona ended in the state quarterfinals last season. Carter was in the middle of the success – literally. He enjoyed a dominating year at center for the Bulldogs. We witness that on display during his junior highlight video. Carter mauls people on the interior of the O-Line, firing off of his snap into the chest of the defender. He drives with his legs and controls the opponent with strong, well-placed hands. Although he thrives in run blocking, his athleticism and agility make him proficient in pass-pro, too.

Carter’s strength has been a vital asset for Algona’s run-game, being responsible for opening up several gaps and lanes for his ball-carriers to go through, being able to easily twist defenders to the side, and he does a great job getting into space to make a block at the second level. Carter is just as able to hold his own in 1-on-1 situations, maintaining a clean pocket for his QB on passing downs. Algona with have a very strong line next season to lead a talented offensive unit, and Carter will leading the way in the middle of that offense for one more season.
