Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
I’m very high on Sione as a prospect. You saw the light come on for him in the 2nd half of the season last year for the Chargers. Sione had a couple of games where he was just flat out dominant. In those games, Sione had double-digit catches and triple digit yardage totals. The film on those games was impressive to watch – at all three levels, Sione was making plays. That is the definition of an all-around wide receiver. I’ve seen him up close a couple of times at offseason showcases, and I think this offseason we’ll start to see colleges catch up because he should have recruiting interest already.

There was, at one point, some thought on our part that Latimore could become a future tight end, but the junior improved his speed and release package to the point that he’s clearly a receiver. That being said, Cox Mill often uses him as an H-Back because he’s an impressive blocker. He changes speeds well and tracks the ball in the air with the best of them.

We’ve had the chance to evaluate Latimore a few times this spring, first at our Prep Redzone Combine and then at Matt Morrow’s CFI Showcase. Both of us came away impressed with his hands and route-running. I’d like to see him cut some time off his 40, but this could be the year that he breaks out with a big junior season.

Sione Lattimore – WR/TE | Class of 2027 | Cox Mill
Sione Lattimore is a fantastic prospect with the kind of versatility that makes him stand out. He camped at wide receiver, showing smooth route-running and speed, but if you saw him lined up at tight end, you’d view him in a whole new light. He’s long, athletic, and runs extremely well. With a frame that could easily hold another 20–25 pounds, Lattimore has the potential to grow into a dynamic mismatch at the next level—whether out wide or attached.

Despite being undersized for an in-line tight end, Latimore did a lot of the dirty work for Cox Mill. He also caught a few passes as well, performing well as a safety blanket. We expect him to put up some bigger numbers as a pass-catcher as a junior, as he has the height and length to make big plays in the passing game.
