It sometimes takes a bit longer for talented offensive linemen to find their way into the rankings, just because they don’t show up on many statistical rankings or newspaper clippings. It took a recent film study session to find Lane, and because he played both tackle positions and center last season, it took me a few minutes to realize some of the most dominant reps for Concord’s offensive line were coming from the same player. He’s a good mover for his size and flashed excellent pass-blocking footwork.

Lane got some run at right tackle last year as a freshman, and held his own. He’s a strong pass blocker with the ability to stand his ground against talented edge rushers. He’s growing as a puller and we’re excited to see how he develops.

A two-sport athlete, Lane also plays power forward for the basketball team. Though he doesn’t have elite height, he has great size and played some tackle for Concord’s varsity team this year. We’re excited to get a better chance to evaluate him over the next few years.
